Need some help

Hello everyone,

I'm new here and I have a simple question. I'm planning to start playing wow, but do I have to buy the game in order to created an account or I can just buy the expansion and disregard the original game and still be able to create an account? Please help me out. Thanks

You have to have the original game. You can download a trial version of the original game but then there is a fee to activate it. If you buy the game there is no activation fee and you get the first 30 days for free so you are better off buying the game.

If you download the trial version you can play for free for 14 days but cannot go over lvl 20, cannot use the AH, and your chat options are very limited (say and party chat only). You can however activate at any time for a $20 fee at which time all restrictions are lifted from any character you may have created during the trial period.

If you download the original you can expect at least 4-5 hours of patching afterwards.

Thanks Zendarin. That help answer my question. I guess there is no way around it and I'm force to buy the original game along with the expansion.

Well hope that I'll be bumping into a few of you when I start playing. Although I doubt is going to happen.
