To expand on the post above ...
Go to the Orc/Troll starting area in Durotar (the place where orc and troll characters first appear at level 1) and speak to everyone you are able to. Chances are that there won't be any exclamation marks to signal quests but you can get them anyway simply by talking to the NPCs. Do every quest you can, and then move on to the next area, and the next, until you reach Orgrimmar.
Essentially, follow the path a starting orc character would follow until you reach Exalted.

emphasis on: quests.
the only way you get faction reps before level 50 is by questing till you drop (but note that some quests don't give faction reps).
at 50 you can do runecloth donations, and at 51 you can enter AV and try to get drops which you can turn in for faction reps.

I always look here (http://www.wowwiki.com/Reputation) when trying to find where to grind rep as they usually have a great listing of Factions includng OL rep and how best to get it.
Though generally with Azerothian Faction Rep you can just do the reg quests and get a lot of rep fairly quickly.

Wel I'm trying this with my Belf mage and priest atm. They both have around 4,000/21,000 rep towards exalted (being lvl32/29).
A few tips:
- Do all the Horde starter areas at low level. Since all Horde quests give reputation for all factions now (example: an average Undercity quest gives 250 UC rep and 70 Ogr, TB and SM rep).
If a quest turns grey, the rep gained decreases, so do it at the appropriate level!
- So level up by doing as much Horde quests as possible. STV and other Steemwheedle Cartel quests don't give Horde rep, so they're useless for this purpose. Be careful, there's only so much quests!
- Get the Ogrimmar quests lists from thottbot. I won't link it since it has some advertisements, but it's handy.
- Don't forget to hand in cloth at the cloth quartermaster in Orgimmar. You can hand in 60 of them for .. 350 rep I think. You can only do it once, though, so that's 1,400 free rep (linen, wool, silk, mageweave).
If you want to get exalted AFTER lvl40 you can hand in Runecloth endlessly at the cloth quartermaster in Ogrimmar. Bbut if you want a wolf then, you might as well wait till lvl60 and get the black Ogrimmar PvP wolf or the AV PvP frostwolf.
That's about it, at least how I'm doing it.

Not true any more - I did the starting area Forsaken quests on my level 20 Belf and got full rep. I do remember reading that it had changed, but I can't be bothered to find the reference right now :)

rep gains from quests were changed back in 2.0 iirc.
more or less all the old horde factions give full rep now to any level, but almost none of belf lowbie quests do (grrr).
just cleaned up all the undead starter quests on my 70 lock couple weeks ago, got a *ton* of rep and dinged exalted on him. now to finish off the other factions :p
footnote: cloth donation quests: you get wool/silk/mageweave/runecloth donation quests at lvl 20/30/40/50 respectively. of those only runecloth is repeatable, and you need to do the first 3 before you can do the runecloth quest.

Orgrimmar is kinda easy to get rep with using AV. Most of the little things like turning in Stormpike Flesh and other little things like that generate Org rep, as well as Frostwolf Rep. Doing the little repetables like that on my Alliance toons would get me like 50-75 IF rep. Seeing as how the Stormpike Legion is Dwarves, and IF is Dwarves, I'd wager it's the same as the Forstwolf Clan are orcs and so is Org.

Sure. It's just in general not needed on 'new' toons.
Most of 'em will hit Exalted before hitting level 40.
