Not sure how the mods will like this. Note that I'm doing nothing against the rules and Blizzard themselves provides the means via coding to obtain this info through legit addons.

Anyway...

So yesterday I began browsing my WDB cache via the ItemDB (http://files.wowace.com/ItemDB/ItemDB.zip) addon and I was disappointed to see that since my last reinstall I had no legendary or atifact items in my cache. A little annoyed by this (not sure why), I decided to make a quick slash-command for querying item info by ID (which spawned this addon if you're interested: ItemQuery (http://wowui.incgamers.com/ui.php?id=4658)) which I used for filling my cache with some goodies. After looking around the net a bit, I came across a couple funny items, including the infamous [Martin Thunder].

After having some fun with it last night I found that only 2 items I had found on the net were safe to link, so my cache was still light. Though it doesn't really matter, I like to be able to link all sorts of nonsense in the guild chat and such, so I'm wondering...

If anyone here knows itemIDs of some funny and real items, post 'em. I'll start out:

Martin Thunder: 192.

Don't item id's vary from realm to realm? Making this request a bit moot

I just made an addon so people can query me for the cost and stats of pvp items, and I noticed that all the pvp item IDs correspond to the identifiers (watch the link) in the online databases. So this is tested with 200+ items and they all seem to match, I do not think they vary between realms - why else would these databases use them as their own item IDs. The difference is, as the OP explained, the item has to be in the realm cache or they can't be queried/seen. For example, on my realm, I currently cannot display the Martin Thunder (192).

Anybody remember if there is a thread on this South park episode here or info about it. The parts that play inside the game just have to be made with cooperation of Blizzard, right?

Possibly, or just someone with a private server. I'm also pretty sure the arena vendors do not have that sword. =P

The sword is fake, it's not on Wowhead, thottbot, or allakhazam.

Is it real or is it fake . . . . (dramatic music) you decide!

Blizzard confirms The Sword of a Thousand Truths is real

It's not just for the kids of South Park anymore. After sister site WoW Insider tipped us off that the sword created by Salzman in Blizzard's accounting department may be real, we did a little investigating. Blizzard has confirmed that The Sword of a Thousand Truths, used by Stan to defeat "The Evil Man," is in the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade expansion -- for now.

The Sword of a Thousand Truths is currently intended as a reward in the new Arena System. The Arena System is one of the new PvP elements available with the Burning Crusade expansion. Blizzard emphasizes that like anything else available in the closed beta of the expansion, which started today, this content could change at any time.

Sadly, unlike the real Sword of a Thousand Truths, this one does not cause 120 DPS with instant mana burn and give an enchant of +80 stamina. But it was created to Salzman's specifications!

It was in BC Beta and Alpha but removed for release.

And no, ItemIDs from what I've seen do not vary from realm to realm. How it seems to work is the core ID stays constant, but sub-IDs vary. After an ItemID, there are 7 numbers that tell the server/client things like the current enchant, who it's made by, etc. One of these numbers appear to vary between realms, but the server will return info regardless of whether it's set to the proper number for the realm or not. So when you query info by link, you simply do:

|Hitem:192:0:0:0:0:0:0:0|h[Name]

Here, the core ID is 192 (Martin Thunder).
