Yes, dueling is allowed cross faction... and it's just as useless that way as well.

Why am I not surprised that the Gnome is a ?? Rogue, trying to duel a level 15 Tauren Shaman. It must be the mentality. Oh look! Something to gank! I must be a rogue.

Did you punt the gnome? That's what I do when I see them.
This is / was happily "exploited" on my RP PvE server in Tanaris. Alliance challenges Horde to duel, flags before duel and somehow Horde ends up being ganked by guards / other Alliance. Not sure HOW it works, but does.

They cancel the duel after it starts and usually right before there opponent attacks so the other person doesnt notice, then BAM:cry:.

You make a little macro to do /pvp and /forfeit- your opponent is usually swinging away and doesn't notice in time, so they hit you and pvp tag themselves.

That is just so totally lame. I'm glad the idiot gankers who do that stays on PvE servers.

...because there are never any idiot gankers on PvP servers.

People who roll on a PvP server know that they can expect ganking behavior. It's part of the game on a PvP server. The soft#@!#s that roll PvE and then use dirty tricks like this to flag other people for PvP, just because they're too weaksauce to roll real PvP, are idiotic gankers. They're griefers, nothing more.

Funny thing about duels
Often when I get ganked / camped by hordies, say at the entrance to an instance, I always come back and hangout for a bit - waiting to res as we all do - but lately it seems like the players are fools as they will then begin to duel one another. Well, this is perfect because I wait for them to finish and then pop and drink a pot - and a single shot kills the loser of the duel and the winner is usually low as well (if both are low a single multishot usually does the trick) - so they die too before the rest of their party realizes what's going on.
You can come back and take out 2-3 of your gankers if you have patience and they're not thinking aobut what the consequences of their having some fun dueling after ganking is . . .LOL
Just wanted to mention it as this thread made me think of that . . .
The moral: Payback's a beyotch!

This method is actually surprisingly easy as the people who act like this usually are dumbasses.. Fond memories of outside ZF :cloud9:
