View Full Version : I'm starting over.

I'm pretty much done on my Alliance 'Lock, we started The Eye yesterday, and I've been on a pve server my whole WoW career. I'm starting fresh on a pvp server as a horde.(Ghasp!)

I'm having troubles selecting my character, all the horde characters are, lets say "not so nice on the eyes". Vanity isn't the only issue, it's what I'm going to be... Warriors are hard to start up , especially on a pvp server, since I won't be able to afford gear and the likes. Mages are out of the question because I'm too used to a lock (I'm not rolling another warlock either). Blood elves, no. Hunters, probably not. I feel like an idiot asking, because I see this a ton, but what would you reccomend an experienced player to start with as a new character, to be honest, I just want pvp strength, solid instance abilities, and decent farming capabilities. (I'm all giddy about world pvp, can't wait to be ganked for the first time )

(I'm extremely picky about classes :P)

Thanks ahead of time!

Play a Tauren Druid. Or maybe an Undead Rogue. Or maybe. Wait. Why would you be happy playing something I picked for you?

Bumping threads is very much against forum rules bud. If no one feels like responding to a post it needs to die.

There is a sticky post regarding "what class should I choose" - you should probly read it. No one can pick a class for you and what you like to play is probly not going to be what I like to play and vice versa.

depends what you like... if you like the casting thing, shammy or druid. Both make good healers too if you want to try that.

Rogue is damage, in your face playing, great farming. Might be fun on a PvP server too.

Can't fault an Undead Rogue for PVP, but as is said above: YMMV. If looking pretty is a factor in your choice of character then I suspect you're looking at the wrong side ... unless you want to play only Blood Elves ... (/rude Blizzard for giving the Horde a pretty race)

As I was reading the OP my immediate thought was Rogue. So there ya have it . My choice would be an Undead Rogue...

Make an undead lock, call him Richard, and give him a /yell FOR PONY! macro.

Job done.

bumping is against the rules.

Yes, it is. However, Zendarin quoted me and then explained the rule about bumping. I did not bump this thread, I responded to it. Or are we not allowed to respond to threads?

I think it was meant for the OP not for you, maybe Zen was aggreeing w/ your comment and forgot to type /aggree or something . . .

To the OP

Roll a ShadowPreist - I've seen numerous Duels of a 70 (insert class - except Lock) against like a 67 SP and the SP wins every time.

I saw a SP in blue/green gear wax the floor with a 70 arena geared warrior . . . she just kept bubbling tossing some hots and re-applying the DOTs never even going into shadow so she could heal . . . it was impressive.

In my experience, PVP is more about skill than gear ... or even class. Sadly I don't possess PVP skills, but seeing them in operation is impressive to say the least.

This is a bit more true at level 70 in BG's but Kara / Gruul etc epic'd peeps will still roll on you if you're filled up with blues and greens even if they suck at playing their class.

If the playing fields are even in terms of Gear then yeah it would come down to just class and skill . . . but IMO it rarely does.

Twinks will destroy you in lower level BG's even if the player jsut spams their main attack/spell buttons - and that's all Gear Based.

IMO Gear has A LOT to do with it . . .

Definite misquote. Meant to quote the <bump 123456> post made by the OP. I just clicked on the wrong icon. My apologies Gavriel if you thought any fingers were pointing your way.
