Do wow people read? Not many replies on this thread.

I admit that I don't read that much. The last book I read was The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. Three years ago? :embarassed:

Should I roll a Harry Potter 1 and level it up to 7?

I'll be at home, not in my wizard outfit, clearing out my shed. Yes, the weekend starts here! woo

You need to take a picture in your outfit and upload it to your gallery.

Yea, when I get my camera....I still owe gw.com a picture of the phat lootz they sent me!

My wizard outfit is filled with win tho.

A white oil funnel with two hole punched for straps and a piece of round cardboard at the base for the hat.

A piece of green tarp (still with stains) as a cloak. A curtain as a robe, birkenstock sandals, and some crazy jewelry I got out of a 25 cent machine at a grocery store. A fake white owl that will be perched on top of my shoulder that I bought at Michaels.

And don't forget my 6 foot wand (not a staff, a wand) that I will be using to cast "Avada Kedavra" on anybody who so much as glances at cutting in line in front of me.

You should be producing the petrona charm...

I read, every book i deem worthwhile. 2-4 books a week for 20 years.

Lately my reading has slacked off, because honestly...I haven't found as many new books worth reading.

I like epic fantasy, jordan..salvatore, weis+hickman..goodkind.. etc etc.

I feel wow is simply an extension of that area of my interest... I feel like my char could be one of those char in the books.. maybe I get too caught up in it..hehe :D

Hmm....maybe I can get like a fake horse and put it in my sleeves and attach it to the tip of my wand with a bungee cord. Then I could scream out

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!!!!"

And release the horse so it flies out. Good suggestion. I wonder how many kids I will scare tonight.

The patronus is your happy moment... surely it isn't a horse?

Tie a warcraft game box to your wand and fling it out there for your patronus

thats full of win

Now is when I wish I had a midget as a friend and he was willing to do some naked laps around a book store while surrounded by kids.

Now THAT expecto patronum is filled with win.

Well I already read the ending of the book plus got some info on what pages some of the people who die on. So I pretty much know what happens.

With his crude avatar, a guy on diabloii.net spoiled the last book for me completely, so I better get around reading the new one in jiffy.

Not that I'd characterize myself as an addict or even a fan (not to mention kill myself having been told a spoiler, like that guy a few years ago). They're pretty good books, but I've yet to understand this zealous craze they have inflicted readers of all ages with.

I'd preferred if they'd waited with creating the movies 'til the series had been completed as well.

Boo Harry! and Boo potters!

All those movies have is special effects and a stupid storyline. I won't waste anytime watching this one. Last one was brutal. "sighs" - WoW should make a movie and OWN in the action/drama scenes! With adult type Mages and what not instead of stupid kids or now young stupid adults.

ahhh c'mon. you know you love your books with stupid special effects.

Stigg

The last special effect my book had was when I pulled a tab and curious george climbed a tree. I think my teacher gave me two stars next to my name for completing that one.

The company I currently work for was shipping these last week, and I didn't even steal one (even though I saw some coworkers helping themselves to them). I should get a raise.

Strange.. unless the forum's time stamps are off that's.. 5 hours after the European release?
Over here the release time depends on your timezone: Midnight in the UK, 2 AM in Eastern Europe, and 1 AM everywhere else.
Who's Publishing it where u are?

As for what I was doing on that night, I arrived about 20 minutes after the release (great book and all, but not worth 2 hours on the sidewalk to save 20 mins!), bought it, drove home, and started reading. 16 hours and 40 minutes later I went to bed.

Erh.. you're aware that Harry Potter is a book, not a movie, originally?

The movies were made in order to help the readers of the books better imagine the looks of it as intended by the author (though they'd never admit it). All the good stuff has to be cut away unless you want a 24 hour long movie (and even then there'd be bits missing).

How anyone would expect to make a book into a movie without losing something I do not understand, but at least I now know how Umbridge looks.

How peculiar. My understanding has evermore been that books are vehicles to your imagination and had no need to be supplement by a visual aid for verification. That is what makes them so unique - they are tailored to yourself by yourself.

The movies were made to scrape additional profits from the already successful Harry Potter franchise, by presenting it in an alternative form to the Muggles who do not have the wits to read their ticket stubs.

Perhaps too much Patron for you, sir? Excessive alcohol consumption is known to have a deleterious effect on one's mental faculties. As an alternative, perhaps you have simple not found the magic you need to immerse yourself in a piece of literature?

In either event - what is your purpose in ragging on about alcohol and a variety of different subjects in a discussion focussed around a specific series of novels by a group of fans of those novels?

Is it purely to express your disdain or are you fishing for emotive responses?

Oh my.. I walked into my local Chapters (bookstore) the night of the release. I have never seen so many skinny, white, glasses-wearing females in my life.. and here I am 6'2 or so wearing all black (not goth or anything, just the first stuff I saw) feeling about as out of place as can be.

Wow Jan, you fail at reading comprehension...which oddly enough makes this funny.

True enough!

I'm a writter not a reader. I scan through long crap if I have to and pick out the main functions of a thread or title or whatever. I laughed as I misread this thread/post.

Haven't read the books, but according to many the movie sucked compared to the book.

Maybe a good reading is in hand to enjoy the Harry Potter series again.
