I have a crossbow but it needs ammo. Where can I find crossbow bolts? I've been to Ironforge and Stormwind and can't find any. I have some arrows but they don't work in the crossbow. Thanx for any help.

Bolts = Regular Arrows
See this (http://wow.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=400005) thread for info on making it work.

or....open your backpack or quiver (whichever one has the arrows in it) and open your characters "paperdoll" display. Click on your arrows and drag them to the ranged ammo slot on the bottom right portion of your character display. This box (iirc) has a red arrow pointing to the left and connecting it to your ranged weapon.
Your weapon will now continue to use that type of ammo until you run out. Remember that if you buy a different type of arrow (i.e. higher dps) you will need to equip those in your ammo slot before your crossbow will use them.

All good advice from xDDx & Kodonn. Although it does beg the question: Why not have bolts for crossbows in the game? Instead of arrows I mean.

:ponder: hmmm, lol, dunno that's a good point (they are the same but it obviously causes confusion among new players).
Maybe they should redo the tooltip to say arrows/bolt or something . . .

Thanx guys, I tried to put the arrows in the 'paper doll' slot and it looked like it wasn't accepting them--but then it did work. Got my crossbow going.

They probably figured it would cause too much confusion if they had bolts and arrows.
Personally, I wish we could dip our arrows in poison, or dip them in some kind of oil and set fire to them. We've got glowy swords and glowy axes....I want to shoot flaming arrows.

From what I recall of my days of Open Beta, a couple of eons ago, there were bullets, there were arrows and then there were quarrels/bolts. Not a lot of folks used crossbows, because of it.
Course, I could be going addled from old age and all that.. *shrugs*

Yes I did wonder about why there weren't no bolts to be seen when I started in WoW, but by the time I finally got a proper Xbow (at lvl 50something) I wasn't gonna complain that I didn't need to switch ammo again.

Get the ice-threaded ones from AV?
Personally I actively try to avoid them on my Hunter, but if you want looks over stealth be my guest! (Admittedly I believe I've got a stack on my Warrior, but then again I don't use ranged attacks in PvP a lot on her.)
Oh and don't forget that you can also get glowing Thrown Weapons.

Really ? I didn't know that. Do they come that way, or can you enchant them now ?

Come that way, picked up one (for my Rogue) on one of the first quests in the Peninsula. Yes, Hellfire.

That only applies to hunters.
What about the other classes who want to have some fun with their "pulling" weapons. I find it strange that a rogue can poison his sword(s), his dagger(s), but not his arrows or throwing knife.
And surely any good engineer could figure out how to make hollowpoint bullets and fill them with a little bit of some kind of poison.

That would only lead to "Make-up ladies are OP, QQ" though Kodonn. And everyone would want the latest uber poison lipstick to rub on their weapons (oo-er). Although I understand your point & this isnt aimed at you my friend, just the unwashed hand bag carriers ;)
