It's common knowledge that there are three different types of classes: Tanks, Healers, and DPS.

I'm curious, what makes you like your type of class? It might inspire others to try out new alts...

I'm a Tank. I like tanking because I think it's fun to be the one under attack. I like the challenge of keeping aggro, and trying not to let others take damage. I know it's my responsibility to make the job of the Healer easier.

What about the rest of you? DPS, Healers, other Tanks? Let us know!

When leveling: "No downtime"

When playing: "Plenty o' options"

Might be handy to mention you're a druid. Off course most of us know, but still...

I like playing the healer best since you can get a nice relaxed point of view of the action (untill/unless you get aggro off course). It's also nice to be the one to save the day when everyone's health seems to suddenly drop to hell and you can pop a Barkskin, Tranquility and a Hurricane and completely turn the tables. I suggest only popping Tranq when one of the following is true:
- you don't care about dieing afterwards
- the others have sufficient aggro
- you have the resto talent that severely reduces Tranq's aggro (like... 80%)

When playing dps I always seem to be nervous about downing the mobs asap and every half a second I'm not dps-ing feels wasted.

When tanking it's better, but then I'm nervous if dps is gonna focus fire or not, if they're gonna over-dps, if they're gonna pull instead of me and all that.

My ranking would be:
1. Healer
2. Tank
3. DPS

Still, I'm glad a Druid can do it all .

I think I like healers the most, because they can switch roles, mostly in battlegrounds. One moment you nuke ,the other moment you heal someone.

I play a raiding rogue now though, I wanted to get a good grinder first before leveling my priest. I might get back to my priest once the expansion arrives though, somehow I love priests.

Goes for everything I play, Wintrow.

My most played 'alts' are a Shaman and (formerly) Engineering Rogue. Still pains me I had to drop Engineering to pick up Skinning to feed my Druid's LW.

i like the damage my mage can put out and how confortable he is to play ( portals, food, insane damage for questing )

i like how challenging tanking is whit my warrior. Keeping the trigger happy PuG out of harm is stressing, but fun.

i like how my healer can just sit back and relax, look at some health bars and nothing else for a entire instance. Yes i like that. It is relaxing after playing a ranged squishy who most of the time als is raidleader and has to look for everything that is going on on the screen.

I like my mage cos I can do so much damage with him :), and teleporting is soo useful.

I haven't really tried the other classes much yet though lol.

I can hit all three categories depending on my mood, the needs of the group, and what characters need/want a specific instance, if applicable.

Tanking: I like tanking, still learning to be a good tank, but I get frustrated in PUGs that don't give me a chance to build aggro. I'm not so good at tanking that I can hold multi-mob aggro without a head start. Guild runs aren't always totally without this issue, either.

Healing: I enjoy healing quite a bit, and I'm better at it than tanking. In the first MMORPG I ever played, my most known and respected character was a healer. I've been known to be so focused on healing that I didn't realize something was beating on me until I realized that the health bar that needed the most work was MINE.

DPS: Easily the easiest of the three roles as far as decision making during combat (focus fire, and if you've got a CC target, keep it CCed), but still loads of fun, especially when the plan goes out the window and you have to improvise.

I enjoy my lock because of how dark the class is. Just seeing all those dots (affliction btw) sucking the life out of a mob knowing that if anything happens to the tank (fear, MC...ect) it's gonna make a bee line straight for me.

It's peddle to the metal on the edge of self destruction adrenaline, only to get whiplash from the pucker factor that just ensued when you see something big, snarling, outlined in red, and ticked off making a mad dash right towards you.

Healing on the other hand with my holy pally can be dull for me......unless we are in a really good fight then I'm on the edge of my seat just praying to get through it (with a full head of hair), popping trinkets, BoP, Divine Favor, spamming heals on the tank with an occassional FoL on the other party members if I can spare it, and griping at mages to bandage themselves (always seems to be the mages for some reason).

But most of the time it's spam FoL on the tank and occassionaly BoP some silly mage or elemental shaman (or put it on a rogue just to make them mad) who doesn't understand aggro, and keep up blessings every 15 minutes.

But I have no comparison for tanking though....my druid is still lvl 36 and I'm an avid fan of cat scratch fever. Only tanked a couple times and the best part of it was doing the bear dance after killing a boss. You gotta love the fuzzy bottom bruisers doing their victory dance :)

I absolutely enjoy healer. If the tank is the armor plating, and the dps the cannon..then I am the engine+fuel. You may not be the "star", since you don't do the actual killing, but every good player knows that you enable them to be that star. I enjoy being that person, the one that enables everyone to "shine".

Drawback is that you don't see the mobs as much, as you are both far away and look at health bars as much or more than the action. But it is nicely compensated for the variety of action/reaction.

My first toon was a hunter that I played to 60 (preBC). I then messed around with the other classes, the best I did was a 38 rogue. After I switched servers to play with friends I started a mage which I have enjoyed leveling to 46 so far.

So... having looked back on it, I suppose it is the ranged DPS I enjoy most. I think it is about the being distanced from the danger with the option to run if things get too hot. I prefer to support groups rather than be essential (like the tank or healer).
