Hey Hey :)
I have a level 32 warlock and i was wondering how long do you reckon it would take to hit 60 if i just grinded? Playing around 2-3 hours a day.
Also some good places would be nice :D
Hope some body can give me a estimate on how long it would take :D
Thanks

L32-40: Desolace
L40-50: Feralas and Tanaris
L50-55: Un'Goro Crater
L55-L60: Western and Eastern Plaguelands, some Felwood and Winterspring if needed
I suggest finding the quests that require you to kill x mobs or collect y pieces of ...
They add a nice chunk of xp while levelling and let you in on the history of the world.
I guess you'd take about 10 days of /played time to get to L60 (if you don't have the expansion pack). That is: 10 x 24 hours = 240 hours.
You playing 2 to 3 hours a day would lead you to 120 to 80 days untill you get to L60. = 3 to 4 months.
It goes faster (less time /played) if your character always plays with rested xp: If you run out of rested: log off in an inn or capital city/switch character. Let rested build up to the maximum of 1.5 levels before you continue. Rested will be easier to maintain as you level up. It might take you longer in days though if you insist in playing in rested.
A compromise might be to try to log off in an inn/capital city every night you log off..

Of course, just mindlessly grinding mobs solo will make you worth avoiding, maybe you should tell folks your toon name and server so we can avoid you for instance groups? :)

Why would you want to avoid me?
I have done enough questing and instances to last me a live time i was merely wondering if it would be faster this way :)
Thanks for your input.
PS : Unless you were implying i would be going mad with boredom, in which case, lol.

You might well be barking mad by the end of it, true :)
It's more that solo grinding gets you into bad habits which are really unfortunate in group instance play, where things work differently. You will indeed seem a little flaky/insane to a group. My biggest horror in a group of unknowns is an ebayer or grinder who hasn't done any instancing, is full of bad habits, and needs to cram everything that they should have learned in the lower level instances. It just ends up as a world of hurt. Each class has some funny gotchas for instances, plus you won't have a good handle on your threat profile and the like.

Should be mostly find until the mid 50's as i have played my class to that level once before mainly questing.
Was just hoping this could be a tad faster. I think i will just keep it as a mix along with instances with my guild.
Thanks guys.

One thing to add- pick up and complete all the Uldaman quests, with guildies for speed, if possible. The XP for some of the followups is just silly, and that level range gets a little slow :)
(Yeah, I know, Uldaman=dull, sadly)

I grinded almost entirely all of my characters. And I have no problems in instances. Hell, the first instance I healed ever as a healing specd priest (And the first one since about level 40) was Karazhan. We cleared it in 4.5 hours.
Generalizations are not your friend moop

To be honest, Stigg, they are less dangerous than grinders, they've bitten me more often by far. I only have your word for it that you aren't a danger to shipping, livestock and pork belly futures. However, I've seen some of the worst players ever admit that stratholme (pre-tbc) or shadow lab (post-tbc) was their first ever instance, and it wasn't merely that a hallucinating colobus monkey had stolen their keyboard and mouse from them after they joined the group.
I mean, who the hell grinds a paladin to 60 or 70, just by killing mobs, not even doing many quests, because they're too confusing? There comes a point where all your good intentions turn to dust when the same tard wipes the group for the 10th time. *Shudder*

Well said P
Even for me creating an alt, I cannot bare to "grind" my way... I guess that's because knowing where certain items are obtainable through certain quests regarding instances.
Once you learn that the best items comes from instances (boo world drops!), you'll never grind a alt/main again.
Tunic of westfall!! perfect example for any leather types to begin their questing (alliance).
