Perditions

Recently, a friend of mine and I unexpectedly went into a rather heated argument over his new idea concerning World of Warcraft. Since neither he nor I can come to agreement over who is correct, I decided to turn to these Forums.
My friend argues that one could buy two accounts. Let's call them A and B. The A account contains all your main and alt characters. The B account contains only a level one Gnome standing in Ironforge.
To continue, he believes that you could buy gold (from a website, presumably), and have that gold mailed to the Gnome loitering around account B. Once the Gnome has the gold, it is mailed to a character on account A.
I believe that the owner of account A would be banned (permanently or temporarily) for buying gold. My friend argues that, since the gold was bought by account B, only the random Gnome account has the possibility of being banned. And Blizzard can do nothing to account A, even if it is clear where the gold ended up.
Who is correct and why?
