But, re-interpreting your question, I am going with the original for two reasons. First, because TBC hasn't released in China yet, and secondly, there is little point to have TBC if you don't have the original.

Yeah you kind of cannot play WoW at all without having the original.

I think expansions almost always have a diminishing returns type of sales, since (as has been pointed out) the original game is required to play any expansion. Companies try to overcome this by selling the original at extreme discounts, and/or packaged with subsequent expansions.

So it's virtually impossible for an expansion to outsell the original.

but i still think the original. gold seller and botters have to keep buying it :)
