I got WoW... now what?

I just downloaded WoW. After instalation it is at v1.0.0 after I run the patch (that was included in the download) it is changed to v1.4.0...... The place I got it from doesn't give usefull help. Im not experienced in the whole patching routine... I couldnt find servers that worked for my version of WoW.... Any suggestions? Or does anyone know a simple tutorial I could look at? I've been searching the net for hours now:sad:

All you have to do is:
1. Start up WoW
2. Type in your account details and log on
3. Let the automatic Blizzard Downloader run
4. Repeat 1 through 3 until a successful logon happens where you can select a server and make a character

If you're asking for help connecting to unofficial servers this is not the place to ask. If indeed you're trying to get on the official servers, do as Kalos told you.

If the download of a specific patch is going extremely slow try getting it as a seperate download from http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_Mirrors.
