Does anyone know where the upto date Gatherer lua (shared data) can be located?

I just had to reinstall it all and can no longer find where I got it from.

Thanks for any help, I need my nodes :D ?

Switched to cartographer as cannot find the Gatherer one (shame really)

Because he already has a bunch of data with gatherer. I think there is an option to plug-in for cart that lets you use gatherer data.

wouldnt be as accurate as walking around and getting the data yourself.

If he already gatered it it would be.


Here (http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php?topic=6553.0) is a data base that was parsed from a site that has all the known mining nodes in the game. It also has herbelism, and treasure locations too. Just get cart_mining, or herb and put the file in your saved variables folder.

The Carto data is pulled from one of the big database sites and then filtered for repeat nodes, I've yet to see an incorrect node on the herb data at least.

I did they don't suppport the external data. :cry:

Best bet is GatherSync, but its just a sharing AddOn, not a DB itself.

My cartographer has stopped showing the nodes and the link provided a few posts up is the one I already have.

I have checked my UI central and no new cartographer is on show.

Does anyone know if this has been updated (Cartographer) to show the nodes again.

Yup, (seconding Meowr), Gatherer does now support external Wowhead database downloads.

Yep, Gatherer has a DB that can be downloaded now, and I went back to using Gatherer, instead of Cart Mining, awhile back because Gatherer is more configurable as to what you see on the minimap.

I was in a similar situation with the pre-WOTLK patch when my Cartographer stopped working. I went back to Gatherer but my old data was just that, old and incomplete. I pieced together a couple of data sources to create a data set that contained node data (mining, herbalism, & treasure) for Azeroth and Outland. I am using this file with Gatherer 3.1.5. Final file was created 10/20/2008. You can download this file from

Unzip the file and copy the Gatherer.lua into your \World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\&AccountName%\SavedVariables folder replacing the existing Gatherer.lua

Might as well use this bumping for something useful..

After 3.0 I found that the Gatherer Database doesn't really function properly for me. Before, I would import the data and all my toons with a gathering prof would see the available nodes on their world map. But now, I only get to see a small handful of nodes on the map even though I know there's more herbs/veins in that specific zone.

Any idea how come? Did they perhaps have to start their database from scratch after the new patch, so that I'd better wait a bit for them to accumulate more data?
