staves stink

I have a 36 Gnome mage and can't use stave. No matter what I do all I get is a glancing blow on anything near, equal or slightly above my skill level.

What gives? Have I missed something along the way. This is rreally @#$%&! me off!

Are you using the stave to fight mobs? if so dont, Go to the nearest ah and buy yourself a wand and use that to finish the the mobs.

Also this proberly would of been better in the Newcomers section or the mage section rather than the wowdigger section.

xD. well for everyone with a 60+ casters(mages/locks/spriests is who im mainly talking about),imo stave sucks. yes they have better stats n crap BUT if u compare with most 1handers/OH's the combo of 1h/oh is usually slightly better(20 spell dmg here and there, s'more int or sta,stuff like that). butttttt it takes longer to get a 1h/oh unless u get one from the AH. btw original poster pay no attn to what i said

You need to keep using it on low level mobs until you skill up staves to something close to your level times 5...
