A few weeks ago, my computer (Which ran WoW perfectly) had a BSOD and died on me. Not having the money to get it fixed, I decided to hook up the old laptop I'm using now.

Basically I'm getting really bad framerates, lower than 10fps usually. This laptop meets all the system requirements except RAM, having only 256 MB, so I guess thats probably why this is happening.

I've turned all the video options to the lowest settings, but it's no use. What I want to know is: Can I improve my framerate without having to buy a new computer or anything, because I really don't have the cash.

We need full system specifications on your laptop to make that judgement. But with only 256MB of ram, there never going to be a hope. It tends to lag quite a bit with double that, we recommend four times that amount, 1024MB for stable gameplay, closer to 2048MB if you're using Vista.

Could you not find out what went wrong with the original Desktop, for instance what the BSOD actually said (They have different error messages depending on what the problem is, hence they should be written down and listed when seeking technical help)?

The BSOD on my desktop stayed there a few seconds before it died, so I didn't have time to read it.

As for the laptop specs;

Intel Celeron Processor 795Mhz
Intel 82125 Graphics Controller
Not sure about much else.

I'm not expecting to get it smooth, but even a small improvement would be nice.

How do you mean your desktop 'died'? What does it do when you try and turn it on? Beep at you, refuse to show anything onscreen, no registerable activity?

As for your laptop, nothing can be done. It's a blessing it runs at all. Try and keep background programs to a minimum, and that's about it.
