Hello everyone.

I am considiring starting to play WoW.
i have heard from many people, it is a fantastic game, but also could get addicting, but i know when to stop, and how to stop.

well, first of all, if you could answer the following questions, i would greatly be appreciated.

1.Is the WoW 10 Day free demo worth downloading for the experience of gameplay, and what can you do in the 10 days.

2. What is the main idea of the game?

3. and after my 10 day trial, i purchase the CD, do you have to pay to play?

Thank you all!

1) Yes. The main limitations on your character during the demo involve being restricted from interacting with the server economy. You can't use in-game mail, the auction house, or trade windows with other players. Annoying enough that most people I know that liked the game didn't wait the full 10 days to activate their CD code.

2) Hmmm.... different people have different goals. To some people, WoW is all about PvP (player vs player, fighting against other players rather than computer controlled mobs). To some people, it's getting to the high end gear through raiding (groups larger than normal, running through instances designed for the larger groups), to some, it's the journey to lvl 70, and when they get there, they create another character to do it over again with.

3) The first month is free when you activate your CD key. After that, you have to pay to play. Payments can be for 1/3/6/12 months at a time, with a small discount for paying for more months at a single time.

Side note on #3:

You have to pay first in addition to activating the retail or CD Key and then once you pay for some sort of subscription, you get your free month. After the free month, whatever subscription you paid for will start running.

Its very addictive. The first thing I do is check my auctions in the morning instead of me email. I do a good job not letting it horn in on important things though. I always said I would never pay-to-play but this is definitely better than Netflix.

I have met some really great people playing. A simple act of kindness can grant you awesome friends.

Level cap is 20 while you are playing the 10 day free pass. That is annoying enough to make you skip that altogether.

Not only that you can't talk in any of the chat channels. Only /say or /group. You can't even whisper anyone unless they whisper you first or you are on their friends list. These were the most annoying thing about the trial and why I ended it early.

The trial did do it's job though... I decided within the first few days that I was DEFINITELY getting a subscription.

And a side note to this, if you use a credit card as your payment option, then you can cancel said payment from being made. So you'd still have your free month, but after that your account would be locked down until further funds are provided.

If, you use gamecards, then yup, you pay up first, because said cards are one use only and non-refundable.
