I finally bought the game... and it won't work... I've tried 3 different ways of downloading and on my fourth right now.

I get to the 4th disc at 51% before it stops working. It says that the drive (C and F) might be messed up or that the disc is messed up (which it's in perfect condition... just got an hour or two ago and just opened it... and checked). I went to Blizzard.com and went to the support... but I tried to do that thing but the files wouldn't copy so it didn't work. I REALLY NEED HELP!!! Any suggestions? I'm getting desperate... it takes like 30 minutes to get to 51% then it just pops and dies on me... so frustrating.

Has any1 had this problem and was able to fix it?

Tried the suggestions from DarkMatter or something about the Tomes... ya... when I tried to do the 4th Tome it wouldn't work... still hoping maybe someone has an answer?

Things it isn't:
Corruption
Spyware / Viruses
Low RAM
Cheap RAM
Bad Disc Drive
Wrong Disc Drive

It's just at disc 4 at 51%... it just.... stops. Any suggestions other then stuff I tried? I'm thinking of just taking it back and getting a new one to see if it works.

Common problem. It's a poor CD read error. Either it was printed wrong or there's something quirky about your reader. The disks have a reputation for this. Download it (this is legal and advisable, considering the nature of the problem). Visit the following link: https://signup.worldofwarcraft.com/trial/10dayfreetrial.htm Do follow all the steps, it is the same client and it won't hurt just to get a taste of it anyway.

Two things as a by the by. Please name your threads more appropraitely in future. One of the stickies at the top of this forum was a request to do so, now this is one being made in person. Second thing is, don't rule out options for us without telling us how you drew those conclusions. More than once have people been confidient enough to rule out certain potential sources, having been forced to argue with them, only for them to come out finding one of thier 'Can't Be's' actually was the cause of their grief. For instance, how did you rule out the ram being poor quality? Did you give it a good eight hours on Memtest to pressure test it for bad sector failures? And ruling out low ram, fair enough, but there's no reason to deprive us of how much ramyou actually have. People have different ideas about what is high and low amounts. For me, high is three to four gig of ram, one being moderate and reasonable, two being the target on the wall to be shooting for to get 20/20 smoothness.

The link works fine for me but you can just go to www.worldofwarcraft.com and navigate to it from there. Also note that the link above is for the US client only, check www.wow-europe.com for any EU client.
