What is the point of these?

Does anyone actually wear a level 70 grey item??

Does anyone get any joy in the AH with these, or are they vendor trash?

2 gold per grey mace on lvl 70. I would not dare to question this :D

Nothing beats the Goldenscale Vendorfish. Grey fishy, 6 gold....

Pretty much that's it: Just some a little extra gold from the vendors.

Indeed!

Nothing like 10g off some crap stuff you picked up along the way doing your quests or whatever.

Hell i know a few people that have went to the trouble of collecting the who set(s).
The jewel crafter i go to for my gems on Andorhal is a 70 Drenai Hunter. He/she is also a enchanter. When he/she is in iron forge selling his/her wares, it is done in a full set of delapidated cloth armor w/full enchants. And the good ones at that.

I'm collecting a set of the corrodid mail pieces for log out cloths and for laughs.

A tank i know has the full set of deteriorating plate. Hes gonna put it all on and try and pug normal ramparts.

Also we may try to get 5 70's in full greys (enchanted or not) and see if we can pull off some instances. starting with ramparts and working our way up.

Make him use 'The Stoppable Force' as a weapon.

Make him use 'The Stoppable Force' as a weapon.

I believe he is useing the deteriorating blade and a lvl 51 grey shield i pulled out of a fel chest in netherstorm.

But i pick up alot or grey trash while farming motes. I'll keep an eye out.
is there a lvl 65+grey shield in the game????

This mentality really helps my argument that Blizzard should add a naked encounter to at least one raid instance.

You guys are awesome. If I had more bank space, and more time, I'd start collecting myself a pile of grey items too. Maybe I will anyways - it's awesome :)

Reminds me of my friend collecting the Twill set pre-TBC. Amusing stuff.

as far as the time aspect i dont intentionally spend time doing it. They drop while farming motes from elementals and farming rep/gear in instances. so its nothing to go out of your way for.

Maybe create a "Grey Only Guild"??!!

Would definitely be a laugh at least!!

Heh I'm thinking of collecting a grey set now, just so I can find out who is gear-checking me at the start of instance runs.

If I had more bag space I would definitely have a full set of Embroidered items for use about town.

Grey's @ 70 are solely for laughs/vendoring. As someone said above, that grey 6g fish has probably gotten me about 1k g over the months. Not to mention the 3g per stack elemental trash I get while farming Primal Fire.

That's cuz you don't need to go out of your way for 'em. Either the mob drops cash, or it drops vendor trash which still = cash. Before BC tho' you had to go out of your way to get vendor trash grey things.
