What is it with AT&T.net ??????????

The tracert ends at AT&T.net and the rest of the tracert either says Request timed out or has a ping of 400+.

This seems to happen once in a while without any warnings and lasts for a long time. Theres no way to get back on wow to warn anyone else im with then too!

WTF!

All Ive seen from WoW support is that its faster to contact the culprits myself. OMG! by that time im back on WoW.

Am I the only who wants WoW to be hosted on a different server than AT&T.net???

Send them the traceroute and yell FIX IT PLEASE. worked for me the two times I had routing troubles (once was my ISP, once was Blizz Europe ISP)

AT&T aren't the servers, or the hosts. Blizzard run thier own. They are just one of the hops the data should be passing through, but for whatever reason, they're stopping it getting through. Place a phone call to your ISP and get them to throw thier act together. This is a routing problem on your ISP's end, they probably don't even know about it. AT&T just own a large portion of the network that data travels through, they aren't the hosts of the WoW servers.

No, Blizz pay a hosting company to provide their servers with their bandwidth. in the US its AT&T and in Europe its one of the french ISP's

That's pretty much what I said. AT&T does the network routing, it's their job to do the communication of data between the servers and the players. They aren't the final destination and they don't have anything to do with the running of the servers, bar that of any normal ISP having control over thier clients. Everything on the web needs a host for bandwidth.

My initial post was directed at the OP, his belief that AT&T (.net) were the server's maintainers and designers is in no way accurate, AT&T provide the big fat data cable to it, the servers are all Blizzard's not AT&T's.

wel im in the same stituation bloody thng wont log on ive tried going to the at&t.net website an that wont load like all the blizzard sites

Well yeah.... for me other sites are fine. But Blizzard sites are down, WoW is down, AT&T.net is down. Dont confuse it with AT&T.com though. lol

yeah... :(

Well its the next day and it looks like its working again.

Well.. 24 hours later(more or less)....

Its down again. Ive checked with another friend who is on a totally different New Zealand ISP(He is on Swoosh and Im on Orcon), he cant get AT&T.net either. Everyone else in Australia can get there though.

You really need to get on the horn to the ISP. Create a stink there, let them know you're unhappy. If they don't get complaints, they won't know to fix anything.
