View Full Version : Why There Are No Premades for 2.3

Many people are disappointed to discover that the PTRs this time around, currently testing patch 2.3, do not have the Pre-Made character facility available. On the other hand, plenty of people are happy about it (http://www.wowblues.com/eu/ty-blizzard-1152957891.html):

...For not putting premades into this PTR :D It will be awesome playing with people who have mains with proper game experience rather than 12 year olds in it for the "epics".
Admittedly, Blizzard only started the Pre-Made option to get more players onto the PTRs when they needed more people to test them, but large popular patches, such as 2.3, have no need of extra testers; it'll be busy enough.

You can't please everyone, as Blizzard are keenly aware, but Salthem was quick to respond to someone who was actually pleased about a decision they've made for once...
You're welcome :-)

There are arguments on both sides of the issue really, when we have premade character copies there is alot more activity on the test realms that can help with testing, but for 2.3, as evidenced by the character copy queuing issues, everybody wants to try out the PTR, so I don't think population will be an issue, it should be very possible for people to put together a few Zul'Aman runs, and Arena games and so on to test out the talent changes.

What an idiot. The PTRs are for testing new patches, not for people to play the game as they normally would. OK, so you do play as you normally would, but what I mean is, it all goes in the end anyway and nothing you do on a PTR counts towards your character on the live server. If these "12 year olds" happen to find a bug that nobody else did then why not have them on there?

These elitist knobs get on my tits.

(BTW, I've never been on a PTR so I'm not bothered either way, just wanted to make a point).

the ptr with full t6 is honestly not much fun.

This way it will give me a real idea on how my guild will do in ZA, how i will do in arenas and also bg's.

Plus this way the ah will get used as there is going to be gatherers and not just the premades
