soo, i tried a few mp3 players for my home pc, but i am not realy happy whit either of them. i tired :

Itunes : nice, all the features i need, but unfortunatly way too many features i dont need ( video plaing, music store to download music, automated organising of my music library, ipod support, always conected to the internet etc )

winamp : nice, but i miss one feature. You have to buy the program to be able to import CD's into the player, or to rip them into MP3 format.

foobar2000 : Nice program, does importing and has the best sound quality of the 3. however it has no comfortable library browser. I realy like the itunes way of showing the library divided into album, artist and genre categories. I have so much music on my pc that i need to be able to search in various directions :)

so, what would you reccomend me to use ? and insider hints ? :)

I use Winamp (the free edition). The excellent ExactAudioCopy with LAME is regarded by many as the best way to rip CDs and then you can just drop them in your music library for Winamp to find.

I've moved this thread into the technical forum, because we could really use the discussion  And it is somewhat technical.

I have little insight however. I keep my music on WMP and haven't had a problem yet.

RealPlayer can rip music and import it directly into its library. I think it has sorting abilities similar to iTunes as well.
