Identify arms and armour?

I know that there must be some way you can identify what arms and armour another character has on him/her. I have one alt with a 'blue' cloak found as a drop and other chars often ask where and how he got it. So can someone tell me how to do this, please?:smiley:

Well, you can target someone and /inspect them- that's the quickest/simplest way. There's always the armoury, too (on the official wow sites), which shows you the gear someone had on when they last logged out, and also where it dropped..
