Are you installing from the disks? If so, try grabbing the download version for your zone. I would make a link, but it depends on your zone. Use Google, it finds them within the first ten results for most zones. It's perfectly legal to download them, you're paying for the account key in the box, not the software, which can't do anything without a valid, paying account anyhow.

Did you check if you have sufficient hard disk space left? Secondly, when *exactly* do you get this message? Installing vanilla WoW, installing a patch, installing TBC? It could be that the file is corrupt (which probably means re-installing from 0 again) or that your disk has a physical problem (which is not good..).

Yeah was downloading with 5 discs, its for my sister, i just bought her the game.
I was on Disc 4 when it happened.
The reason why i was hesitant to download was because it said it could take as much as 48 hours. But I guess I should stick to that, as it worked perferctly for my Macbook.
I had about 22gb on the PC.

It'd take about 48 hours on the worst possible connection most likely. If you have a modern DSL, cable, or 3G service, it'd be much faster. For instance, a simple one meg broadband connection completes it's data transfers twenty times faster than a 56K modem, which is the minimum for the game. This is available at fairly good prices across most of North America and Europe, even Asia in some parts, pretty basic package.

Ive downloaded 5% and it says another 80 mins left. It probably just started off slow.

I should warn you, advertised speeds and actual speeds are very different beasts. I can pay for a 20 meg connection to this house, but due to the distance from the exchange, it'll only come out as 4 meg at best.
Sites like http://www.speedtest.net/ are a little more honest about what your connection is on a none theoretical, the best possible conditions way that ISPs put it to inflate thier numbers. Across most of NA and Europe, speeds of 20 Meg are advertised, but only in a handful of places can 10 be even achieved, due to the simple problem of the local exchange problem and poor networking designs which are common place, considering they were designed for analogue tranmissions, not digital.
