I'm not new to CRPGs although this is my first online venture. But never have I seen a game before that was so stingy with 'things' for lower level chars. There's little by way of good armour, weapons or loot for lower levels (say under 40). Few chances to find a really generous financial reward either. And now Hallows End, which could be fun for all, is mostly aimed at levels 60 and upwards. It's a bit discouraging to see the 'big guys' get all the good stuff and have all the fun. We lower levels would like pumpkin heads and brooms too. Maybe scaled-down pumpkin heads and brooms, but a bit more participation, at least. I know that in any game like this the early parts are a hard slog. And that I accept. I do have one character that's high level, but generated a couple more just to see what it would be like to play their classes. And it's brought me to an awareness of how much more generous the game is to my 'big guy' and how stingy with the starting ones.

well, you have to start somewhere ^^ it is in the nature of the game.

and i somewhat disagree, you can be in all blues by level 30, which is decent imo. There are some nice quest rewards etc to loof forward to. and from lvl 35 onwards, whit scarlet monastary, you have nice items from instances.

besides it does not realy make sence to fill the realy early levels whit too good items, you grow so fast in the beginning, items would not last longer than a day anyway.

Quoted for Truth. You don't really need to worry about good gear for the first 20 levels or os as you're leveling so fast. Even 20-30 is fast as you can do it in one area (maybe 2) so there's no downtime of having to travel between areas like there is in the higher ends of the game. For 50-60, for example you are pretty much going back and forth between 3 or 4 areas: WPL, EPL, Silithus and Winterspring trying to level. From about 1-30 you can do it one area for each bracket of ten (1-10, 10-20, 20-30).

There really is no need to be getting amazing gear at the lower ends as it will become obselete real fast.

Hell, with the flattening of the level curve, it would be fair to say don't worry unduly before outland. Hell- the epics that drop for lv 55-60 in the old world (non-raid) are generally inferior to the outland greens too.

Maybe grab some nice blue BoEs if you see a bargain, but generally it's a waste of money, as they'll be out of date so fast- like a Saville Row suit for a two year-old. Content at low levels is tuned to be doable for totally bloody awful gear, so even semi-decent greens will suffice.

yep, I agree with Moopy.

For my Shaman I'm about to level I'm planning to quest my way to lv 58 asap... I think I may hit VC, SM, ZF, and maybe ST pretty hard, at the appropriate levels just to get some instancing experience with the class before I hit outland.

However, I do feel your pain. But really, the headless horseman is a lv70 five man fight... sure some groups four man it, and take a charity member. In fact, I feel sorry for level 3x alliance hoping to run SM for a normal run.

BTW, I think my son said he got a broom in an innkeeper treat, it was just a running speed broom, but could be used by anyone...

Hang in there, while I remember my first 20 levels as some of the funnest, just exploring the game.... past that I would say just blow through to 70 as fast as you can.

Best Regards,
Barry

On top of that, lowlevels are gonna get some loving with the instance-loot-rework in 2.3.

Rejoice !

Disagree with the OP.

Just do a Wailing Caverns run. I soloed it the other day and I had too many greens to fit in my bags!

If you get a decent team, it should only take you a couple of hours, and you will have loot to spare!

Umm, there's a post EXACTLY like this in the General Discussion thing, is there not?

Fact is, you can't not level, eventually it will happen, so wait until you get to 'big players' levels, then see for yourself!

Mmmmm, not sure yet. Got my warrior up to 59, and yes, he gets, I suppose, 'better' stuff, but most of it doesn't sell for much to vendors and the AH economy in my realm is poor. And the costs of maintaining him are really steep (training and all that) so I'm not much better off. And I reckon I'll never be able to afford a mount. In some ways, much as I enjoy the game, it's a little too much like real life!

Wow... maybe u should lvl?

What would the point of the game be if the lvl 1 chars got an epic?

The whole idea is to build up... lvl 10 u have some greens give a couple points in stats here and there... and u build up... 20 u have a little better gear some more stat points... 30, 40, 50 etc... as you lvl u get slightly better gear but if a lvl 20 gets the same kinda epic loot as a lvl 70 whats the point?

And I am on a medium sized server so it's not packed to the brim... but I still bought my mount right at lvl 40... I dont run in to impossible obstacles with selling my stuff in the AH or trade channel... some stuff just doesnt sell no matter what server your on...
