Resubbing, tried the BC trial, didn't buy, can I still play?

I canceled my subscription in May, a couple months later I downloaded the Burning Crusade trial and played a Dreani Paladin to level 20 or so.

I just bought a time card, have not entered the code yet, and am wondering if I'll be locked out of my account until I buy The Burning Crusade.

After the BC trial ended I tried to use the regular WoW trial and got an error about not having BC activated on my account.

I don't want to enter the code and find out I need to buy The Burning Crusade just to use my account, since there is a Dreani char on it.

I think it'll be fine: you'll be able to log into your account, but you won't be able to play with yr Draenei char.

I have TBC installed on my PC. My account is TBC-enabled. My wife's account isn't. When we copied our own chars and some premade L70's over to the v2.2 test-server she could login fine, she could start her own char fine, but got an error "check your billing" when she tried to load up a L70.
