Hello Forum-wallahs

I have given up on LOTRO and, tail-between-legs, am thinking of returning to WoW, a more relaxing, Crafting-fun, snob-absent game.

Questions:

1) do people think WoW has much more time in its product life (I do, but I have been away)?

2) Can anyone suggest a more recently established, or "young" normal (non-PVP, non-RP) server, so there will be a continued future of gaming?

I thank all you wise ones in advance.

1) WoW is good for another couple of years. Also, as a rule, succesfull MMO's don't die easily. Look at:
Ultima Online
Everquest
Planetside (still running even though it was a moderate hit at best)

So sure, WoW is still good.

2) Pick a server that has the "Recommended" tag. These are servers that are between desolate and overcrowded. There should be several per server-category (at least for English servers).

You will notice once you start playing that Blizzard is constantly updating the game. That will keep the game vibrant for a long time. The Burning Crusade already added another whole continent for players over lvl 60.

With all the people paying a monthly fee, I can't see them easing up anytime soon.

snob-absent game.

 When did this happen!!!??? I logged at 1:30am last night . . . was this an update or patch or something lol

Ton's - WoTLK hasn't been released yet and it will have the first (and supposedly not the last) hero class. New items, craftables, instances, towns, etc are always in the works.

This game is good for MANY years to come. Even if updates slow down after next year there is such a huge and vibrant player base it will be many more years b4 it starts to slow down.

Don't forget since tbc was released we have had the black temple introduced.

With 2.4 we are going to see a new 5 man instance, and the sunwell plateau.

You get content "patches" with wow, naxx brought this pre-tbc. New content is coming into the game at a regular trickle.

ogri'la/skettis areas, and brewfest. Right now we are in the throws of hallows eve and the headless horseman event.

I recall the recommended feature, and you posts have brought a lot of the games constant adaption back.

Good Luck all.

No, these are the desolate servers. Having just transferred away from one which went recommended in the aftermath of TBC, I'm glad to be rid of it :-)

No these are the servers that most new people go to and I am VERY glad I chose one. The cities are overcrowded during prime time as it is - I would hate to see a heavily populated server. I usually find others questing in any zone I am in. The only old world content I have not seen is the 50-60 stuff so I figure I should have a pretty good idea by now.
