I bought a strategy book the other day to help me out since I'm so new and learning the ropes called:

World of Warcraft Master Guide, Second Edition (http://amazon.com/gp/product/0744008190/ref=s9_asin_image_1/105-8156565-6344425?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0BDXZ21EPMH9TXHY4PRN&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=278240301&pf_rd_i=507846)

I was also debating between the other strategy guide they had,
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Official Strategy Guide (http://www.amazon.com/World-Warcraft-Burning-Official-Strategy/dp/0744008336/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/105-8156565-6344425?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1193274405&sr=1-1),

but I flipped through them both and the older one (the Master Guide, is copyright 2006) is the one I bought because it had an introduction section which had a lot of sections that I was curious about (when to share a quest, explaining the different shades of colors for items, mobs, etc., player etiquette, etc).

The newer book (Burning Crusade one) just jumped right with with tables/charts and stats and things that I really don't understand yet, lol

If anyone has both or has seen both books, my question is does the Master Guide, 2nd edition, still apply? I see the game is now called Burning Crusade, and I don't know if that means the game changed a lot, or if the Burning Crusade just takes the same game further?

Have the quests changed from 2006? Should I bother with the other half of the book that talks about the equipment stats, quests, etc..etc..?

I realize all this info is also on-line and probably easier to find on-line, but that's not my question.. I'm wondering if I should spend the time going through the book or if that will actually hurt me if things have changed a lot with the Burning Crusade. I only started playing 10 days ago so I have no idea how things were last year.

Thanks

a lot of the core information is the same, and a lot of the quests have remained the same. they have added a few more quests to help with silvermoon rep or exodar rep...other than that major changes were the addition of two races, the addition of the outlands, which that book wouldnt specify, but it looks like the 2nd one would. a lot of the information in the one including the burning crusade would most likely pertain to when you become a more advanced player.

If you are asking whether to buy another book or not I suggest don't bother. Save your money and just play. And then if you have any questions just come here and ask (after doing a search in the appropriate area)!
