mob back off sound

Well they used to go "beep beep beep" like a dump truck but blizz thought it was a bit outside of the game genre.

Not sure exactly what you're speaking of? Mob's backing off? Off of you? Like evading?

The OP might be referring to how, right before a MoB stops chasing you, they sometimes inexplicably get a single hit on you even if they're far away. It's not a sound effect, they actually do hit you. Check your combat log.
How/why this happens I don't know. I figure it must be a bug or lag.

ChaosSaber is right, thats the sound.. But no they arent hitting you. Nothing in combat at all when hearing this sound.. Even if you never got hit by them you still hear this sound.. It's my wish that Blizzard would fix this bug..

I think this sound are there so u know when u leave the combat if u dont have the interface on. I used that sound to know when i was out of combat at the very first time i started play WoW. Then yet i didnt know wot interface was.
