Hey guys.

I remember an addon a while ago that would remember 2(or more) sets of action bar setups and switch between them(either at login or whatever).

My son is starting to play this game now, and he goes on my character sometimes and changes all the actionbars around. I'm a keypresser and he's a clicker and we're both driving the other crazy.

I heard of that macro awhile ago(before I needed it) and it seems like that would be what we're looking for.

Thanks in advance.

Most action bar mods will allow you to create per character profiles so you can have different setups for each character. Both Bongos2 and Bartender3 support this. To activate for Bartender3 goto the Profiles section and then select the profile option you want (By Server, Faction, Class, or Character). This is the same type of profile system used by most Ace2/Rock based mods.

Yeah normally that would be good ... however we both use the same character...

Would Bongos or Bartender let me create 2 sets of actionbars setups for the same character and let me change between them?

Bartender3 can do that by creating a new profile manually. Then just switch between the profiles as needed.

Bongos you could trick into doing that by applying another character's profile (all the profiles can be seen in the profile menu and can be selected).

Bartender3 uses the standard action button IDs, so if the problem is a matter of what actions are in what slots of which bars, then that by itself won't solve the problem. If the problem is just a matter of where to put the bars, then yes, profiles will solve that one.

If the problem is the former, you might look into SimpleActionSets. I haven't used it yet, but I've heard that it can save and restore what actions are in what positions on which bars.

Well since one is a clicker and one is a keypresser, you could do the keybindings based on the keypresser's layout, and the create another layout for the clicker, since which slot is which only matters for binding keys. This can be done just using Bartender.

Bartender gives you ten bars, if you used five on each profile (make the others hidden) then you could use the visibility/location settings which are saved per profile to effectively toggle between two entirely different sets of action bar layouts.
