auctioneer being annoying

auctioneer wont let me post any auctions. everything else seems fine, but when i click "post auction", nothing happens. no error is generated.

i disabled auctioneer and then i was able to post my auctions...but why won't auctioneer work?

i've heard that auctioneer is working fine for everyone else, so why isn't it working for me?

i tried doing this on my bank alt. not very many other addons were running. just the auctioneer pack (stubby, informant, etc). i was also running AllMyStuff, but i dont think that would cause the problem.

so what's causing this? i want mah auctioneer back:undecided:

You need the latest preview version, either Auctioneer Advanced or Auctioneer Classic. Auctioneer Advanced got a new interface and while I like it I heard quite a few people who dislike it. Auctioneer Classic is supposed to be more like the "old" Auctioneer.

So: Go to the auctioneer site and select to download the preview version. Make sure you completely delete the old auctioneer before you unpack the new one because I think it does not overwrite everything! (I even think there is a note about it on their homepage somewhere).

Thanks for the help. I was having the exact same problem. Of course, now all my scan data is lost since I deleted the old files, so I'll have to start scanning again to get price history. Oh well.

Just to say I'm one of the people who has and LOVES Auctioneer Advanced - I didn't have any of the issues those on the old one had with this patch either. Adv Auc comes with some other bundled things which can be annoying (like bottom scanner which I don't need and something called beancounter in the post-patch version which DID give me a bunch of errors but I just switched them off) Appraiser is the newest thing about adv auctioneer and it ROCKS - brings up everything in your backpack so you can just highlight it - it gives you a per item price and sliders to choose what size stacks you want to sell and how many of those stack s- then it's one click to sell as many as you'd like! It's batch posting but sooo much smoother. Anyway jsut wanted to say - if you're choosing try out Adv Auc - it also comes with updated enchantrix which also rocks - I'd missed it.

No auctioneer is not working right for everyone else. I've had the new version fail and lock up on both searches and scans. I haven't had a single successful AH scan on either of my computers. one runs XP, one runs OSX. I've used auctioneer for a LONG time, but they screwed the pooch on this last redesign.

They didn't "screw" anything. They're in alpha (not even beta) of their redesign because of patches from WoW.

(Also, the latest version is working beautifully for me. No errors at all.)

Agree, I love Auctioneer Advanced and it works great for me. No lock up or errors what so ever.
I update with the preview version as often as they release them, the only problem I encountered was in one of the updates (several weeks ago) there was a folder for something new ( can't remember the name ), it crashed AADV evertime I scanned.
You may have that folder installed, So, I recommend deleting all AADV folders from your addons (not from your WTF) and reinstalling from the latest release.

i prefer Auctioneer Classic myself, all i really need it to do is scan the AH and adjust my prices as needed :)
