Battleground build for level 59 paladin

I will stay at level 59 for awhile to collect some PvP rewards before outland.
So what tactics/build is the best for quickly collecting honor? The way I see it I have mainly 3 choices

1.) Retribution
I have tried this and the difference from playing my warrior in BG's are huge. It feels paladins are less suited for 2 hand pvp, but maybe its just that i need to learn the playstyle?

2.) Healing.
Have never tried healing as a palladin but it seems "Healing done" can net some good honor

3.) Protection.
I have leveled up as protection and I reckon a prot build with some points in holy may be a durable healer and good flag carrier when playing wsg.

So what are the experiences on the forum for the level 59 paladin?
Advice is needed.

I'd say holy/ret, with a shield and spelldamage outlands greens.
Not playing a paladin though, so I wouldn't know.

First off don't stay 59, stay 60 you will still stay in the same bracket and you will be able to get HWL stuff. I have a 64 pally and if prefer prot for overall pvp you will tear up bg's as a flag carrier and just ripping peoples faces off. only AV has the 51-60 bracket, the others have 50-59 or 60-69.

Well in that case just keep meh spec and get that 2h from AV and you'll still tear people up.
