Arena - What I should know.

Basically almost hitting 70, and ready to start hitting the arena after I farm S1gear.

Now from what I understand it's not exactly the same as duels, or BG PVP, due to diffferent things being allowed, so if I could get alittle help on this it would be great.

Like, such as potions, bombs, etc etc.

No consumables can be used, only class buffs. No trinket or ability can be used thathas a CD over 30 mins (iirc). There is a "water" that is sold in SW Hall of Champions that can be used in arena (doubt you'll ever get a chance to use it).

BG some and try to take on people with full health hopefully away from others and learn how to act / react to various class spells and abilities.

Not sure about engineering gadgets, though I dont think I've seen anything used.

Also, dueling helps to learn how to take on various classes.

No CDs 15 mins or higher it is.
As no consumables are usable, no bombs/nonequip stuff are viable either.
Engineering trinkets are usable, but as you can only switch weapons when the fight has started, they are limited as well.
If you are a mana-user, hotkey the water button and get something to anounce out of combat, to keep mana high at all times.

Oh, and don't waste time (=arena points) in not joining a team before you got full s1 gear, you still get points, and any points>none at all.

Defently. Your rank can go down, but your points wont no matter how bad you might be at the start :P. As long as your team is on the same boat, you'll see yourself and them geting better and stronger with each new piece of gear they get.

ya, join a team as soon as you're 70. no reason to wait, you still get arena points. your rating goes down as you inevitably lose a lot, but it doesnt matter, you're still getting points.

do i still get points from only loose the battles ? .... does it matter pointwise if i just loose 10 games/week or loose say 50 games ? (well , we started to win some from now and then , but its rare)

to clarify , is it more points gain from playing more games (with a big loose %)

if you lose 10 games a week, you'll get your points and your rating will drop

if you lose 50 games a week, your rating will drop faster, so you'll get less points per week.

so the point gain we get at tuesdays is tied to my rating ... well....we start to get hang of arena now so we hopefully wont loose EVRY battle :P , it takes some time to get familiarized with temamates , terrain and different matchups , slowly we prolly go + in win/loss ratio :D

also as you lose your 10games a week, your rating will drop, and eventually you'll be fighting against 'your level', people who are also low rated and once you 'bottom out', you should then win 50%, and as you improve, you'll climb back up.
