Can someone explain Arena rewards?

I'm new to arenas but I do not understand how the reward system works. I specifically want the Merciless Glad 2h staff.

Do I need a rating of over 1800 in order to get it, even if I have enough arena points?

Is it possible to get the S1 staff now with honor and where do I get that stuff in the game?

I think thats it. If someone would elaborate on how the whole thing works in simple terms, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I don't believe you need a specific rating to get S2 gear. Yes, S1 can now be bought with honor from Champion's Hall or Hall of Legends (Ally/Horde)

Actually - my statement was specifically for what I linked and what the OP asked about.

OP - Like Amiral says not all items require a personal rating only shoulders and weapons, and yeah, all S3 shoulders require a personal rating of 2000.

the S3 hunter weapon, the axe, does not require a personal rating and only needs 1k arena points.

check www.wowwiki.com they already have updated prices for S1 gear and all.

on the other hand, the hunter ranged requires 1850, just like the warrior/rogue ranged does not require rating and only costs 1k points.
