Yup, you heard me . . . I love STV!
I said it last night while leveling as I was running along the bridge and my wife was like . . .what!? I didn't think I'd ever hear anyone say that! lol
Between the look (vines, trees, etc), the zone setup, and the pvping I just really enjoy stv!
My first toon through didnt like it so much, but succesive toons that I've run through (fueled by a 70's bank) have had much more fun. Most likely it's because my alts are always geared very well now so that the fights usually go in my favor unless outnumbered or the attacker is much higher level than me. Yes, the ganked by a 70 happens (and can be annoying) but ressing and doing a /wait then grabbing my 70 that's parked at the Rebels Camp and pounding that 70 ganker into the ground is a wonderful thing. Even if I didn't have that 70 to hop on (which sometimes I don't feel like flying him over) I still enjoy it now more than ever and will just wait out a camper or hop on an alt for 20 mins and go back. It's almost like it's a different place to me now. I don't dread it anymore and acutally look forward to questing there . . .
Anyone else enjoying Stranglethorne Vale these days or am I nutz?

you are nuts :P
i found on my 2nd and 3th alt that i got trough STV that it helps alot if you are in the upper part of the levelrange. Not only the mobs are easier, but also you get ganked alot less. When i finaly hit STV with my priest, the first quests of the hunting quest series were allready grey to me.
I quite enjoyed STV the last few times I was through it aswell.
The random fights with people you can kill (non-??) are what made it fun for me.
Also I know the place pretty well, so I can just burn through all the quests really fast.

STV is where I park my rogue for ganking. I can log in and get a gank or two in in a few minutes - fun stuff!

You are definitely nuts. The last time I was in there I got corpse camped by 2 rogues. That's just no fun at all. I do agree that the environment, mobs and quests are great, and it is a very fun area to play.
If I had your 70 alt, or if I had great gear provided by a higher level toon, I can see that making it a lot more fun. Sadly, I do not share those benefits.

You shall soon enough, and will announce that you love STV too

My opinion of STV changed last week when a purple shield dropped off a random ape on my level 40ish rogue.

I've never had a world epic or instance epic drop :(
Got my first epic - Gladiator's Armice, when I dinged 70 last night :)
I quite enjoyed STV, I really liked it as a place, ganking wasn't so good, but cos there was a lot of pvp there some of the most fun world pvp ive had was when levelling there.
It;s like searing gorge, I loved it, apart from when a 70 rogue in epics corpse camped me and a friend for like an hour :(
World pvp whilst levelling against people your own level is awesome fun - corpse camping is horrible.

I love it when my toons are leveling through there and when I see an ally character and i just gank the living p i ss out of him/her and don't stop until they start crying.

I dislike STV. It’s far away from all the major cities, and the zepp takes forever. Well, I dislike any place that I have to take the zepp. I usually hearth to Shattrath, and take a portal – can’t do that with STV.
Oh… and that elite crocodile always eats me when I step out of Grom’gol, and that buggy ship quest that I always try to complete, and die about 500 times.
Other than that, the PvP is nice (it’s one of the few places where there is some world PvP, even if there is quite a lot of ganking as well), but it’s definitely not a nice place to be.
So yes, you are nuts :P.

I love the environment of STV - I actually enjoy the quests and the entire atmosphere. I've always been on a PvP server, however, and the constant corpse camping makes it miserable.
I enjoy PvP, but not when the graveyard is a 5 minutes walk away (it's that more than anything else that frustrates me) and I watch my xp/hour go down dramatically. I just moved an alt to a PvE server last night for this reason - I love the atmosphere of STV enough where I want to just enjoy questing there without all the crap that can go with it.
If there were a few more graveyards for alliance so I could get back somewhat quickly, I'd stay PvP, but having to walk so far only to be ganked repeatedly isn't my idea of fun. I like to be productive with my time.

I hate that elite croc, not because he kills me, but because he has never dropped one single thing for me. I kill him over and over waiting for some decent drop, but he is one stingy croc.
And I also hate that ship quest. In general, I don't like the underwater ones at all, even though I have aquatic form in my druid, you can't fight in that form. I have the hardest time moving around underwater. I think I'm deficient in some way. Oh, well.

Try just using aquatic form to regain your breath then go back to fighting in your normal form. My wife (a boomkin) will fight in boomkin, then when her breath gets low she'll switch forms - it fills up the bar and she goes back to boomkin - never having to surface or use a cherry or a water breathing pot.

My problem is really more with navigating underwater. Like I said, I'm deficient that way.

I don't think you're that nuts. With a seasoned 70 parked nearby and a full quest log all in the same zone, it makes for a VERY fun afternoon. Aside from Nagrand, it's my favorite zone in the game, texture, terrain, pvp and quest wise (nagrand because you can fly )
And the new flight path in Rebel's tops it off.

The place has more tense moments compared to Hillsbrad, and that is what I loved about it. First, it is a damned jungle! Alot of foliages to hide around, meaning many opportunities to lay in ambush, and alot of chances that behind every bush is a stealthed rogue/druid ganker. And sometimes, even those you can see in plain sight can also ambush you due to the large number of foliages to hide around in.
It is also the site of many of my favorite PVP moments. I loved it there, even when I got ganked alot of times in there myself.

I'm so looking forward to when my druid gets there. Not only can I stealth to get revenge on rogues ganking me and my friends - I have a 70 now :)
Woe betide corpse campers^^
