View Full Version : What class would you want to be?

If you could be any class in life, out of game, which would you want to be? Think about this very hard, think of all the abilities you would get. Once the decision is made, there is no going back.

For me it was a tough choice between the shaman, warlock, and mage. Warlocks are the pimps of Azeroth because of their ability to summon a succubus. That would be very nice indeed. But Mages can create portals for fast travel, which is something I like. But in the end I had to go with being a Shaman, as not only can they rez others but themselves as well. Immortality sounds the best to me.

Rogue: stealth into a bank and steal money. Oh and sneaking into the opposite sexes changing rooms  although the latter is hardly useful really.

Hunter: I love animals and have an affinity with them. But I would turn into Dr. Doolittle and go insane.

Paladin: That bubble would be handy if you were attacked.

Warrior: Handy if you were attacked.

Priest: Im an atheist so no chance.

Shaman: Immortality? Who wants to live forever?

Mage: Yes teleportation would come in very useful. As would free food and drink.

Warlock: As you stated....succubus. Enough said.

-----------------------------------------

So I would go for a Mage or Warlock I guess. Although deep down I expect I would choose hunter ;)

Druid. I can stealth, I can hit super-hard in cat form, be incredibly tough in bear form, and heal myself and others. Also feline swiftness for extra fast travel.

Damn I thought I left one out.

Druid: What Piscene said ;)

Druid. In a heartbeat.

The only other thing that comes even close is a shaman, to be honest.

shaman.

only shamans and locks have selfrezz, and the shaman can do so many other things aswell. Any other thing, in fact.

I'd be a female blood elf whatever so I could look at myself in the mirror...

You wouldn't want to be a druid because governments would hunt you down to study you for military research.

Warlocks the same. Mage would be cool but then throwing around fire and ice wouldn't be that big a deal. We have those already.

Paladin's have to be too nice.

If you were a warrior the only job you could get would be in UFC and your career would be too short.

Hunters and rogues wouldn't really fit in with todays world and end up in jail.

Priests and shamans are cool but people are too needy nowadays and you would never get any alone time.

So that leaves just me! A Canadian ski guide in Åre, Sweden. Yeah thats what I'll be!

Happy New Year or gott nytt år!

I'd go for either a Mage or Shaman.

Shammie because they're cool, and can do everything (Self Rezz=Cool)

And Mages for the insane Nuke-age, free food and water (that'd save many $s a year) and Teleportation.

Since when can warlocks self rez? As for the mage with free food. Eating all those muffins and pies will eventually make you what I like to call a Dwarf Mage.

Soul Stone yourself works for self ressing, or it did in my day.

It'd be more appealing if it were Beer or whisky and Pizza.

It'd be more appealing if it were Beer or whisky and Pizza.

You get Pizza at rank 10, which would be level 100.
Oh and alcohol and spellcasting really don't mix very well, so I wouldn't count on any whiskey or beer conjuring. Latter is reserved for Beerfest anyway.

Druid - I've always had an affinity with nature, so for that alone I'd already go with this class. I could go through forests unnoticed while shapeshifted, and my reasonable ability to heal would be just enough to keep myself and my loved ones from grave injury.

Hunter - animals are great companions, and survival is fun, but after a while it'd get to me. Being a Hunter I'd probably go live somewhere in the bush, like Canada or the Alpes, and I'd go crazy that my wood cabin doesn't have a bath tub or a decent cable connection.

Mage - being able to conjure food and water is surely an asset, but I fear that my doorstep will be flooded by beggars if I were ever exposed. Or Greenpeace, who'll kidnap me and take me to Africa to be a human water pump. Also, my spells would have no real use in daily life, other than to light other people's cigarettes or insta-freeze the leftovers of last night's dinners.

Paladin - I'm not religious, which to me is enough not to want to be this class ever. Also, I'm far too Chaotic to ever be a Lawful Goody-Twoshoes knowitall in a can.

Priest - again the religious factor, although WoW has the nice touch of being able to choose the Shadow side. However, I don't believe that I'm the kind of person who could Mind Flay someone, no matter how much they get on my nerves.

Rogue - I've always been attracted by the stealth factor of this class, as I very much prefer to sit on the sideline and watch everything from there. Ooh, and lockpicking, too. Being able to go where others can't, take what others can't, and see things that others can't, that sounds wonderful. I just couldn't poison anybody. Well, maybe I could use a fairly harmless poison on some people, one that gives you a really bad case of the stomach flu or something.. *grins*

Shaman - I don't know too much of this class, but from what I see so far it has a similar connection to nature as a Druid has. They're the 'wise (wo)man of the tribe' kind of class, aren't they? I'm seriously lacking in the wisdom section.

Warlock - I wouldn't have enough willpower to keep the demons I summon under control. They'd soon control me instead, I believe. Although they would've been a great asset to my housekeeping.. *muses*

Warrior - their only boon is being great fighters. So I'd most likely end up joining the army. Like hell I will.

=====

So in conclusion, I think I'd go with a Druid. :)

I think it's telling that I have two alts for every class (one horde and one alliance) except for my druid. At first you'd think I don't like druids enough. But really, I like playing my druid so much and the class is SO versatile in of itself I couldn't imagine ever needing to start another one.

Plus the fact that I couldn't stand levelling to L20 in only balance/bear form again. I'm sure the vastness of Ashenvale and the annoying length of Darkshore scarred me as well. Adding to that, if I made a Horde Druid, I'd have to do the Barrens again.

To all would-be Warlocks:

Remember that, every time you summon a Succubus, you need to spend a Soul Shard. To gain one, you have to kill a living being that would give you experience (so no squashing ants and mosquitoes to fuel your demonic lusts, sorry). Unless you are prepared to become a mass murderer and have a good plan for disposing of the bodies (which, I remind you, don't magically despawn in our world), you might want to reconsider your choice.
But Mages can create portals for fast travel, which is something I like. But in the end I had to go with being a Shaman, as not only can they rez others but themselves as well. Immortality sounds the best to me.
Good luck finding a Reagent Vendor in our world.
Paladin - I'm not religious, which to me is enough not to want to be this class ever. Also, I'm far too Chaotic to ever be a Lawful Goody-Twoshoes knowitall in a can.
There's always the option of a Blood Elf Paladin, though. These guys and girls have been known to burn down churches and torture people for fun.
Warrior - their only boon is being great fighters. So I'd most likely end up joining the army. Like hell I will.
Choosing the Warrior class also allows one to pursue a tremendously successful sports career. Just imagine a footbal player with Charge, Intercept and Intervene. Or a wrestler with Enrage, Thunderclap and Concussive Blow. Hell, when you get old, you could always take up coaching, thanks to Battle, Intimidating, Demoralizing and Commanding Shouts.

Personally, I'd be a Priest, for sheer versatility. This way, I can keep myself and those I love safe from harm, disease and death with Holy spells, while Shadow Word: Pain and Mind Blast allow me to hurt, maim or kill my enemies with no visible signs that would link me to the crime. And the infinite utility of Mind Vision and Mind Control in a Humanoid-populated world is too good to ignore.

Mage. To be able to turn anything I wanted into a sheep would come in really handy whenever I was lonely.

Oops, too much information.

Hm, true.. but I'm not Evil enough for that. Plus, then I'd be a PRETTY know-it-all in a can. That really adds to the cliché, and makes matters only worse.

Mage for me.
Free food and drink, teleportation and port to work can cut down my daily expenses by 95%
Blink speeds up walking and arcane intellect makes me more brilliant than Bill Gates :O
:D

You dont need a kitchen, or a wide porch for a car :O

Think of the vast possibilities!!

Once again - these abilities require runes, and there are no reagent vendors in RL.

Druid, without a shadow of doubt.
Flying and infinite underwater traveling, anyone?

Mage.

Portals . . . blink . . . and it's the only toon that actually can make a commodity, which would allow you to open a food and beverage cafe of some sort and make money for nothing except some mana. You could also start a travel service to rival all . . . access to major cities in the blink of eye . . . charge a low cost and everyone would go with you instead of flying.

And yes Shellar, there would be reagents because if we have mages, locks, etc - in this imaginary world, then we'd for sure have a reagent store (Reagent R Us or Reagent Shack come to mind lol). . . AND runes and tomes have been / were used for years by various cultures - where do you think WoW got the idea

Human Paladin for me. I like the holy religious aspect of it. I like to be the good guy saving hot chicks from evil. If my girlfriend gave me too much lip I could make her shut up by casting repent on her for a while :D

Priest has the same goodness about them but they have to wear a dress. So that's out.

Hands down being the Lock as I've played them all.

Soul Stone, Health Stone, send imp as invisible into the bank, etc...

Summon a Inferno when I feel like being a schoolyard bully.

Summon my wife to me when I feel like it... although I would need my girlfriend to help with the summoning process... could be a bad scene. lol

Lock wins for sure in this thread.

You serious about the Shaman self rez'n????
