Wanted to become Exalted with Thrallamar so I can score a new weapon. The only problem is, I am not sure not too...I know you can complete quests, but I am already level 65, and I am not to sure how to get my repuataion with them higher.
Any thoughts/ideas?
Thanks

Do Shattered Halls until Exalted...

I think ramps and BF also give rep until at least friendly.

SH to exhalted = mind numbing beyond everything. GL, no weapon is worth that, you get faster honor in BGs for an entire set of weapon and armor...

or find pally tank + 2 warlocks to seedbomb, and nuke the crap out of SH in ~30min per run. ;p

Ramps gives a bit of rep per kill. IIRC its only like 2 or 3. That could take awhile.

Now, that is a blast to do and it flies.

If anyone on Emerald Dream US Horde wants to do this, I'm in.

Of course, you forgot to mention that bosses give much more honor (well over 100, as I recall) than normal mobs.

I can't say I've noticed that rep. I'm usually taking a big deep breath that the boss died...lol.

True, but unless you're running it in heroic mode, both ramps and blood furnace stop giving rep at honored.

Not to derail this thread too much, but I don't know anything about 'heroic' mode except the official definition.

Are the mobs higher level? Are there more of them? More elites? How is it different?

Heroic mode requires that everyone in the group have the heroic key for that instance cluster. Now that this only requires honored rep with the appropriate faction, it isn't a major deal.

Basically, Heroic mode instances are tuned for lvl 70 characters who have reasonable gear. So even Ramparts in Heroic mode will be populated by mobs designed to challenge a lvl 70 party. Bosses will often have extra abilities, sometimes there's extra trash, and in some cases, even extra bosses.

The trash that is there is tougher than the same trash would be in a non-heroic instance, even if the instance was already a lvl 70 instance. People who were able to do the heroic instances before they got downgraded will say that heroics are barely any harder than non-heroics, but I think this is a matter of them outgearing/outskilling the heroic.

As someone that runs with rather casual friends, I can tell you that heroics are not "just a little harder." We can take on any lvl 70 instance, and know that we'll complete it, probably without a wipe, even if we aren't at the peak of our game. We go into a heroic, and almost any mistake, especially with crowd control, can spell a wipe. In my mind, this is only "just a little harder" if your group is practiced enough that it seldom makes mistakes, or it's overpowered enough that it can ride out the mistakes.

what beruen said...

as far as rep before honored...pre level 70 its 2-5 rep per mob and 100 for bosses, once you hit lvl 70, its 1-2 per mob and 50 for bosses...best way to get exhalted out there, while leveling, do the first sets of quests until you get the ramps quests/bf quests, then instance until honored, and finish all the hellfire quests, should leave you just before exalted, so on your first SH run you are exalted by end of run. you should be around lvl 63 by the time you get honored, and have all the gear from BF and ramps for your class. this will put you worlds ahead in both experience of the two instances, and gear for the next set of instances you will end up running...just instance until 70 as much as possible, and you will have no trouble getting exalted with each faction, and make more than enough money for your mount as youll have a HEAP of quests left over in each zone. just my two copper tho.
