...and once you got to a high level decided healing was boring what fall back role would you find most interesting? shadowpriest, tank paladin, dps pally, dps druid, or tank druid?

Tank Pally. That's the reason I started a Pally. My priest bores me a little and I hate Shadow.

If I end up hating healing on my pally then I'll fall back onto ret. It seems like the up and comer dps.

Shadow priests are one of the most effective, beneficial and sought after classes for raid groups. A lot of people don't like a priest class because it is difficult to play well, also shadow priests require a lot of consumables, but imo it is the most beneficial of the other classes.

Probably equal to a tanking druid, or maybe slightly ahead imo.

I rolled a pally and grew totally bored with it. Tried Ret, Prot and Holy. I still play occasionally, crawling my way to 70. (Currently 69.5) I have a few people that want me to hit the arena's with them, that's my only motivation for leveling it ATM.

I rerolled a Lock. I have sooo much more fun playing that class. For me, PvP with a Lock is heaven.

Priest then falling back to shadow priest, or a druid healer falling back to feral or balance.

Almost the exact same for me....My palli has kara-style healing gear, but I really like her as a tank...WOW.

I rerolled another healer until I found one I liked, LOL.

I've really never had any interest in a healing class. Haven't even tried one. But then, I don't do many instances, so there isn't much point in leveling a healing class if you're just going to play solo.

I rolled a priest with the intention of healing, and i did PreBC, but now guild wants me as shadow since we have 2 holy pallys and a resto shaman and a holy priest that all alternates nights.

Bad part is now in Kara I got 4 +healing cloth and mace/offhands last Tuesday. So even though im only at +850 shadow dmg(no chants...working on Glad. Gavel instead of Runesong Dagger) Using my Glad Satin Gear and Dreadweave PvP Gear I can have +1100 healing, not to bad, enough to heal any 5man imo.

I know of their uses, but I don't like to play them :) That's why I'm leveling a Paladin, I like both their Prot and Holy tree. With my priest, I choose between Disc and Holy, but I can't raid with Disc so it's Holy always.

went shadow to start and never looked back...took three shadow priests, a afflic lock and a warrior into ramps and bf, never needed a healer because the three priests did all the work with VE...was kinda nice and extremely fast.

tried holy through one run because they payed for two respecs...thought it was alright, but not my cup of tea...i really hate healing and watching names rather than doing actual killing...went back shadow after i tried to lollersmite something and almost got WTFpwnt after i got two extra adds.

Its an interesting subject. My favorite class is hunter but I wanted to try something else so I thought a healer, with a backup role would be a good idea. I am leveling a SP right now and also started a paly but I think I am leaning towards SP seems more my style. I am kind of finding the seals and judgements of Paly's sort of like totems for shammy's; not my cup of tea. I am hoping there is more demand for SP's on my realm as well.

I rolled a priest with the intention of healing, I ended up going shadow cause I didn't like healing that much and later I figured out if I was going to DPS I might as well use my Rogue instead seeing she's awesome :p so now I have a level 70 disenchant alt :p

Also it seems the only healer class I like is druid, but my druid is only level 52 :o more of a DPS/tank guy.

So for me it probably would be paladin falling back to Prot pali.

I got owned by shadow priests on my 70 rogue (PVE server), so got myself a 70 shadow priest (PVP server). I do enjoy healing while I was leveling. However, it was my first character on the PVP server and I needed to farm so many primal mats for tailoring, so I have stay shadow.

As a shadow priest: you can farm, top the BGs score (SW: Death ), reserve a spot in raids...

I like healing, i'm simply shadow because it is what my guild needs.

Building two good sets of gear has been time consuming, probably the reason I don't have an epic flying mount.

9 tailored epics, a 2k+heal set and a 1220+dmg set.

I have all the healing classes, but I am levelling them in their dps role. So I am not yet in a position where healing bores me, yet the cat druid is very much fun. As woud be a PvP shadowpriest. My warrior is not getting beyond lv 42 atm....but I always wanted to try tanking.

Tank Druid it is then.

I have "healing class" characters, but don't like being a healer. So I have a Feral Combat Druid, a Ret Pally (I know, flame on, but I like the challenge), a Shadow Priest, & an Elemental Shaman

Thats an interesting take, using them all in their "backup roles"! I like it.

I have 70 mage (plus various other dps 70s)...but I'm going to roll a healing class (my first 70 was a priest on a PvE server). Any suggestions? Thinking druid...tried paladin and found it incredibly boring!

I'd go with the Shadow Priest if you plan on doing arenas at all. If you're more of a PvE fan I'd recommend the Protection Paladin, they are a lot of fun.

Heh, well, I like to think of it more as classes have more than a single role they can perform, depending on their talent build, gear, and the style the player develops each character with.

I have a druid I leveled up as feral, and respecced him at 70 a bunch of times, but never to boomkin spec. Right now I am 27/0/34 which is a hybrid spec that is a ton of fun, and as soon as I get to about 1800+heal (at 1400 atm) I will respec to 34/0/27 hybrid and maybe eventually even try full balance, since I can get about 800 spell damage in full healing gear now with the 2.3 change.

I have the opposite problem, made a shammy to DPS, and ended up being drawn back to the carebear side of the force, because high-end raid healing is so stimulating. That said, I do love the insane survivability of resto shammy, and since 2.3, killing things has become really easy with 8-900 spelldamage even in healing gear. Being able to kick out massive DPS is nice, but being more or less unkillable sure has upsides.

Although they're not a popular choice for raids, I'd have to go with one of the druid DPS forms, probably MoonKin. I'd love to gear up my druid as an OOMkin if I had the time. It's just a pity I'm gearing up 2 characters at the moment (Resto shaman for raiding and a PVP lock) and can't afford to start on a third. My druid's feral at the moment
but I don't find it as fun as my warrior for tanking.

Seeing as how I'm a Shaman, I'd probably fall from a Resto to an Elementalism, if I had started out as Resto. But I've been Elementalism since day 1 pretty much and I'll probably only change if I can't find a guild otherwise.
