View Full Version : So, is it ok to brag just a tiny bit?

A girl can never have too many shoes or too many mounts....not to brag TOO much, but I now (at level 48) have all the Alliance mounts except the mechanical chicken, which I can't get anyway.
I know, I am very much a dork to care about this sort of thing, but I still feel kind of pleased. Now I can recover from all the damn questing I had to do to get exalted...if I never speak to another dwarf or nightelf npc it will be too soon.
Since the Armory is acting screwed up these days, here are some screenies:

Very nice!
One thing you may want to keep in mind, if you want to show your level while inside a city, target yourself before the screenshot is taken.
Enjoy!
Yes, it is ok to brag a bit :) Very nice going.
Since it is possible to become exhalted before lv 40, maybe you want to create a new toon and try that

The Elek is still the best :)
The Elekk is the reason why my Draenei huntress was exhalted with the NEs at lv 39. He is a clumsy and - in my eyes - badly animated lump of pink flesh ;)

I've never taken the time to get exalted with other factions for their mounts. I've always played horde, and none of their mounts interchange too well with the others (tauren only look good on kodos, undead on horses, etc). However, I have a level 39 gnome mage. And, after I'm done twinking for a while, I'd love to have a night elf tiger...I hate the mechanostriders. How long/how much money does it take to accomplish this with a single faction?
For NE it is actually easy:
Even at a high level, you go to Teldrassil and do all the lv 1-12 quests. Then in Darkshore the 12-25 and in Ashenvale the 20-30 quests.
Pretty much done
(I did them as I levelled, so the missing rep came from quests that give rep for all factions or the odd NE quest in other areas)

Thanks all!
det, my priest was actually exalted with Stormwind by level 38, and having that bleed through rep actually helped cut down on the questing needed for the other factions. I went all the way through honored and halfway to revered with Exodar and Gnomeregan just through bleed through reputation gain. I just kind of decided the other day to start collecting the other faction's mount, so I wasn't doing any preparation beforehand.
As for starting a new character....eush.  Maybe when I finally recover from my questing binge I'll have the strength of mind to get a gnome exalted with Exodar and tool around on a big purple elephant. I think that would look so funny...
nosoup4crr, if you can get to Azuremyst Isle, I recommend taking your mage there. There are some quest givers at Odesyus Landing that give rep to Stormwind, Darnassus and Ironforge. I forgot about them and went back the other day and got a bunch of rep just from doing those quests. One quest from the night elf gave 500 Darnassus rep. Otherwise, just as det says, doing all the low level quests in Teldrassil and so on.
All it takes is time, and I for one was glad to have a mount first as it cuts down on the running around time.

Very commendable. But you should be glad that you did this with a Draenei - otherwise, it wouldn't have been possible. It's annoyingly difficult to become exalted with Exodar.

Very impressive. I have been trying to get SW faction with my Dranei mage and am not having much luck. I have done all the low level SW quests I can find and still need another 2500 rep. Not sure where to go from here - there is no way I can afford to turn in mageweave.

Thanks again folks.
Zendarin, I didn't turn in any cloth at all, to anybody. Did you do the quests given in Theramore? (NOT the Dustwallow Marsh ones, the new quests in Theramore itself) Those were handy because they gave Stormwind rep and were pretty easy to do. Did you do the ones for Cookie McWeaksauce and the other guy in Azuremyst Isle? Those give SW rep too.
If all else fails remember bleed through rep and do the newbie quests for Ironforge and Darnassus too. Those will bleed through and give you some SW rep. There are a few low level ones in Stormwind city itself, to deliver tailoring supplies and such. There are also some human, dwarf and nightelf quest givers in Desolace...a zone I had not taken much interest in before.
I did some research online to find make sure I did not overlook anything. For example, I had never heard of Foggy McCreel (a dwarf) but I searched him out and did his quest...he hangs out in the Thandol Span in Wetlands. You have to jump off the bridge to get to him and I never would have found him had I not researched it first.

Well im horde and all Horde mounts look good so i didnt have to do borring rep-grinds! Maybe the BEs mounts dont look very good but dont have any BE char.
However i did get a couple of more mounts but that was with the BG-marks. But hell it feels like i got a million of those..!!
And to be honest im not that impressed. Sorry! Dont see the point in those grinds. If you would have been exaulted with all the outland-factions then i would have been very impressed..

hehe - grats to you. There is one alliance mount you don't have yet... ever heard of the wintersaber trainer (I'll go into hiding now, so you can't find me after you find out what is involved in getting that mount).
Did you know one way you can tell whether a character was rolled after the x-pac is their reputations? It is a lot easier (although, still not easy) to get exalted alliance in TBC
I had my horse on my draenei at level 44, I did redridge one night. to help top it up. He has also never, ever had an elephant :D

Sorry, but I think I would be hard pressed to be exalted with any Outland faction at level 48. (thats Forty Eight) And since I did this for my enjoyment, whether or not you see the point is really irrelevant. Honestly, it took a lot of questing, but all in all since the quests were easy it took a couple of days, playing for a few hours each day. OOOh, terrible. And I would do the same for my Horde characters because I think settling for the one mount alloted to one's race is boring and limited. Sooo, thanks for your negativity, I guess...I suppose I brought it on myself, but thanks for raining on my parade.
U usng cheat codez!

No, I don't cheat, but thanks for the congrats. Seriously, though you are accusing me of cheating? Come on... that is ludicrous. How hard is it to quest and gain reputation? So someone does that and "Omg, u cheatorz!"

Um, ok. I got my dwarf exalted with Stormwind before I ever bought Burning Crusade and it was a bit harder than getting my Draenei exalted, but not very much more so.

gratz dude
im a crazy quester, and do every quest i get my hand on apart from some instance ones or escort ones. There are so few quests i havnt done, i can actually name the ones i have left over. Obviously im not including TBC ones. So for me to get exalted was dead easy. I'm a Gnome, but am exalted with SW, Darna, IF & Exo. I also got the Winterspring mount. So I have 6 alliance mounts I guess (well the 6 factions they can get them from)...
I admit I handed in cloth for Exodar to get about 5K of rep. But the other cities I handed in none. I've been exalted with most of them since level 40-50 (SW was one of the first I believe, very easy). Ironically I'm not exalted with my own race & have about 500 rep to get still. Not having our own city means we have less rep available in the game I guess...
I guess I went out of my way to get rep with Exodar by donating & Winterspring. But the other 3 came with no effort, just the way I play...
I'm finally starting in outland (my character is 65 now though, because i got alot of XP during the Winterspring grind)...So far I have done half of Hellfire, and some in Zangar & Nagrand. I guess I'll end up with all the flying mounts too at some point.

Great job!
I have a Blood Elf and was determined not to ride a death-chicken (I mean Hawkstrider) and remembering how tough I found it to get Exalted with Orgrimmar fills me with admiration at your achievement.
When you say it's not possible to get a mechanostrider, may I ask why that is? Is it just that your Draenei is too large for them? Or is there an issue with gaining Exalted with Gnomeregan Exiles?
And to be honest im not that impressed. Sorry! Dont see the point in those grinds. If you would have been exaulted with all the outland-factions then i would have been very impressed..

I was questing normally with this character because I like questing. I was exalted with Stormwind by level 38 and halfway through revered with all the other regular old-world city factions.
I got a horse and an elekk when I hit level 40 and it just seemed like a fun thing to do to get the other mounts available to me at my level. So I made a list of available quests and banged them out, something anybody who makes use of online databases (such as the one available in this very website) could do. The only thing it required was a little effort and a little time.
I appreciate the nice responses I got from det, Tikki, and the other folks who were simply kind enough to congratulate me without feeling the need to denigrate my (self admitted) simple achievement. To the other people who did not care about this, I appreciate them simply ignoring the thread. Honestly, if I don't see something in a thread that I can appreciate or relate to, I simply refrain from posting in it. Very, very simple.
To the people who saw a need to post simply to be nasty, or make ridiculous accusations...well I guess that says something about your personality then. The fact that I let something negative like that get under my skin is something I should not have done.
Thanks for reading, and goodbye.

Oh, thank you for your nice comment.
The mechanostrider is simply not available to my character due to size, yes. The only ones who can use that mount are gnomes (of course ) and dwarves. I guess it would fill out my character sheet to get exalted with my own faction as well as Gnomeregan, but I just cannot bring myself to run the Gnomeregan dungeon simply for reputation, which would go a long way to gettting exalted with them.

Yeah, and just to clear it up, that isn't a screenshot, that is a direct link to the official armory. That is a real character that obtained all those reps legitimately. And for the record, it is not my toon.
On topic: I did however attain exalted with 4/5 factions with my Draenei Shaman before 39 and got exalted with gnomer before I dinged 41. I was exalted with ironforge and stormwind at 33. No cloth turn-ins were used. It was not worth the effort because only 1 person since then has even noticed my shaman riding a saber, which is why I imagine this thread was even created. It is a bit anticlimactic.

Well..that was the deal with my warlock. I had my eyes on a raptor, but nothing really beats a fiery mount. And while I am exhalted with CE, I ain't shelling out 1600 gold for a hippogryph. I also have a Netherray and a Netherdrake.
Now...my rogue on the other hand is engineer and nothing beats his Epic helicopter of awesomeness. So I still grind Netherwing and Skyguard rep, but I do it for the 150 odd gold each day in dailies.
