First off, ignore my other posts about getting the game etc, they were by a friend who was round at the time, i had just made an account, and was going to post all this but never got round to it.

I have a level 50 horde undead rogue, i stopped playing about a year and a bit ago, i dont remember much tbh, but ive been looking for a good MMORPG and ive tried many and nothing was as good as this.

Basicly i think alot has changed since then, such as the expansion and various changes to each class, but my memories of the game seem a little hazey, i dont remember much really, i did alot of quests and grinding, but i dont seem to be very far in the game, plus my gear and skills/attacks etc seem a bit crap for a level 50, so i have some questions:

1: Has alot changed? I mainly did Questing and lots of grinding (lots, i dont seem that far in the game and the map isnt as explored as i thought it would be, which is confusing me since a lvl 50 should be quite far into it.)

2: I dont have too much gold, about 100-150 i think, where should i go to get te best rogue armor, daggers etc?

3: Where should i go to get the best skills/attacks/spells etc that i will be able to afford? I would like a build mainly for World PvP (also known as ganking ), since im in a PvP server but also for quests and soon raids. Also what about talent points?

4: Where should i go to be able to get me to lvl 60?

edit: 5: I dont think i ever really did much with proffessions (mining etc), also what about first aid do i need that?

Thanks, i really want to stick with my Rogue, and try and get it to 60, as i remmber trying other classes and not liking them much.

Are Rogues good PvP classes?

Thanks to anyone who answers the questions, look to forward getting back into the game!

One of the biggest leveling changes is that you level faster between lvl 20 and 60.
Instances have some great BoP gear for all classes you can find guides online that will show what drops.
For professions pick up something that makes gold quickly and then maybe another that can be useful to your class.

For leveling from 50 I would recommend:
48-49 Feralas
49-50 Tanaris
50-50 Azshara
50-50 Hinterlands
50-51 Blasted Lands
51-52 Un'Goro Crater
52-53 Burning Steppes
53-54 Azshara
54-54 Felwood
54-55 Winterspring
55-55 Felwood
55-55 Silithus
55-56 Western Plaguelands
56-57 Eastern Plaguelands
57-58 Western Plaguelands
58-60 Winterspring

Like every class it gets good or bad with the player behind it. Rogues aren't as powerful and imba in PvP as they once were....these days you even see ppl heal in BGs...what has the world come to?

But I certainly like PvP with the rogue.

has some threads on playing and pvp that may interest you.

The patch 2.3 expedite the leveling xp and you level faster by doing quests.

I suggest you do quests and get your gears upgraded and not buying anything. You will soon get into the outland and the rewards there are way better than most gears in the old world.

Check the sticky thread (rogue guide) in the rogue forum.

4: Where should i go to be able to get me to lvl 60?
See post above.

Mining makes a lot of money so level it up. You do need to level your first-aid.

Yes, everyone hates rogue. 60? You can’t do anything except harassing those ppl from 1 – 60. Level it to 70 and do lots of battlegrounds for honor points so you can get the full season 1 and other pvp gears. Then, start your ganking spree so everyone hates rogues more and more.

So, you just bought your friend's account, and now you're trying to figure out how to play it? Sorry, but I just can't accept that you got level 50 and really don't know any of the things that you're asking here.

in all honesty...you dont need to spread apart the questing areas as much as they made it out to be...from 50, feralas, azshara, and winterspring should put you roughly around lvl 58 so you can hit out lands...

everything else irogue said, good stuff

Yeah, mister 'i've been playing for 3 weeks' with a lvl 70, and no clue what was going on. I didn't mind seeing him leave the guild.

Anyway, bignbrown, I recommend Jame's levelling guides, both for horde and alliance. Even if you don't follow them to the letter, they give you a very good idea of what areas you should be questing in for you level.

For the 50s, try Searing Gorge to start with, there is a lot to do there, then to Ungoro Crater, many quests again, then Felwood, then Winterspring. You'll hit 60 before you're done with all the quests in that area.

actually jame's guy is the understatement of the century for when youd be done...with the advent of the patches and less elite mobs per zone, you can actually look at the zone he suggests, pick up all the quests he says to plus the other ones he doesnt mention...

since you are 50 do mara once, go to searing gorge...all the quests there should get you about halfway through 52 with the mara run...half the quests in ungoro are completable at lvl 52, so go knock out them for an easy 53, azshara after should bring you to almost 55 if not further than that, felwood should get you to 57 since there are two different large quest giver areas, then winterspring for a level to 58...

you can also skip felwood quests after you get unfriendly with timbermaw hold and can run into winterspring...the drops there make slightly more cash, there are better quest rewards, and its less distance between everything...felwood just sucks for travel time.

My mage ran (two years ago...) through the cave while still red to the timbermaw...np.

Oh yeah, and if you're skinning, Winterspring has better skins than any of those other 50+ areas.

My druid was quite the completionist so he was pretty late getting into the Plaguelands. At L56 he thought Winterspring might be a nice change of pace from all the Undead. So I started hitting the Deadwood Furbolgs for Timbermaw rep. When I dinged L57 I got sick of it, got a port to Shatt'rah (the travel hub of Outland), stealthed to Hellfire Peninsula (the starting area of Outland) and grinded my way to L58 in one gruelling sitting.

I apparently had JUST gotten Unfriendly with the Timbermaw AND Winterspring seems, from the feedback I got from my wife, a lot of fun. So in hindsight I should've gone there for L56 - L58, maybe even waiting as far as L60.

with how easy it is to gain rep now, its almost a sin to not go to winterspring...if only for a level or two, the scenery is gorgeous for the old world, and the mobs all drop easy plus there are tons of mobs with good drops out there...
