If you could pay to have the gender of one of your characters changed would you?

I'm a male and have several female BE's that I play because I like the way they look. However, I also have a 70 undead female that I'd like to have the option to change to a male. I'd be willing to fork over $10 to make the gender change.

No, if I wasn't happy with my choice of gender for a specific toon I would have figured that out waaaaaaaaay before I ever got close to 70.

Hummmmm...when I played my UD priestess, it dawned on me that I would have favored my warlock to be female as well...but now after 3 years he stays male. He kinda was my RP equivalent. So since I stay male, he stays male ^^

Some armor looks better on females and vice versa. Whats wrong with having the option to make your character as aesthetically pleasing as possible?

Hrm..you kinda have as much time as you want with your character creation screen. Or modelviewer. Agree however that it sucks to find out at 70 how crap an UD looks in epic armor.

As a tank I would want to be a Tauren or Orc...

I also look here when creating new characters these days as I know that I'll probably be getting s1 for all my toons at first. Plus it gives me a general idea of looks per race and class.

Hahahaha ... we used to get this question all the time when I was a GM for Everquest. But it was for a very different reason.

In EQ, there was an alternate advancement system where you could trade experience for points that were not unlike talent points, but you could only start doing this at level 51. After you'd accumulated a certain number of points, you'd get the title of Baron (if male) or Baroness (if female).

Well, there was this race of playable frogs, called Frogloks. There was very little sexual dimorphism, so other than some differences in colors and very subtle differences in markings and build, it could be hard to tell the difference.

Especially in the first few months after this race became available and new frogs starting hitting the appropriate levels, we got MANY petitions from astonished characters whose first indication they'd been playing a female toon was the "Baroness" title now flying over their heads.

Honestly, if there was going to be a "switch" possible, I'd rather see the WoW equivalent of the EQ2 "Betrayer" quest, where a toon can switch sides.

Ever played Oblivion, det? You can waste literally hours with the amazing character creation screen there- the facial modeller is just fantastic..

On the darker side of the Force, the same can also be said for modeller in Sims 2.

Everyone rolls hordies to play BGs...

The avg. BG queue times will be 2 days and 3 hours...

If I had the option, I'd totally take one of my toons and switch sides. I have three level 70 toons. I'd totally take one of them hordeside if I could.

Not feasible - at least not for $10. You have to send your toon through years of therapy and counseling before perfomring the sex change, then their mental health should be closely monitored to make sure they adapt to their new gender identification. Meanwhile your toon would be a hermaphrodite which carries a whole new set of challenges....

I would really like it especially if you could change classes also (while staying with your affiliation ie horde or alliance). I have a level 70 be rogue who I would really like to make undead. Its not that I don't like blood elfs, I am just a bit bored with her appearance and would like a change.

Ever played Oblivion, det? You can waste literally hours with the amazing character creation screen there- the facial modeller is just fantastic..But the faces in Oblivion (more specifically, the female ones) all look ugly in my opinion.

I feel I have a much too personal connection with my character to give him a sex change, just because he might look better in this or that armour...

I agree on gender changes for Undead. Just trade out some parts to your Undead friends and that should be no problem.

They don't, with a little twiddling. However, because they are attempting to be "realistic" rather than cartoony, they can suffer from "uncanny valley" syndrome, which can be scary.

By way of nothing in particular, here's a screenshot, from some guy who is a bit obsessive about his Oblivion- I don't think the character models are that bad:

This is ridiculous. I think Blizzard should track how much it costs in real life to make a gender switch and charge that. Uhmm, that will be $38,765 Jack/Jaquelin...

http://mrfloydian.com/Gallery/1-500/Screenshot82?full=1Granted, that one is not, but I would have to do some major tweaking to get close to that. I never got something slightly resembling a pretty face, unlike with the Sims.

I'd race switch if i could purely because of all the NE hunter stigma. I'd probably go a female dorf if i could.
