Hi guys no see for a while, I was idling going through my links and thought, "not been to that site for a while" then I though to myself "why?" and I reailised I hadnt played wow since mid november, and I hadnt even reailised. This is a game ive been playing since release with no longer than a week between logins and here I was not even thinking about it.

For a little background to why I stopped going back to probably after summer holidays our guild started slowly losing members, roughly half to giving up and half to leaving for other more progressed guilds, we were working through early/mid BT at this time and quite a few impatient people were jumping to other guilds that had it on farm or were almost on Illidan just to feel they completed the instance, rather than actually doing the effort themselves. It wasnt just our guild however, the number of progressive raiders t6 attuned was drying up fast, their was a budding trade between the most progressed guilds with high demand for players people were switching a lot looking for the best "deal". It got to about October and our situation became dire, we had gone from healthy oversigns of 10 or so to barely scraping enough each raid, occasinally even having to make do a couple short.

So we formulated a rescue plan, we opened up to cross server transfers and accepted people who were practically finished T5, just needing the final attune. A lot of people were unhappy about having to go back to T5 but their just wasnt enough T6 players and no casual raiding guilds completing T5.
Eventually we got about 20-25 new players 15 or so transferred from the same server (though they wernt in the same guild). So in a frantic fortnight we attuned them all, taking upwards of 15 virgins on Kael/Vashj attunes a week. Relieved we restarted T6, and were progressing again for the next fortnight downing several new Hyjal/BT bosses, sometimes on First night, we just had Archimonde and Illidan left. New troll Instance came out and we cleared it the first night, despite no one trying it on test server, so things were looking good. Then without warning all the server transferees left to set up their own T5/T6 guild. All our hard work for the previous 3 weeks gone in an instant (We later found out they had been planning it since transfer, using us to T6 attune them)

We couldnt face doing it all over again, and the number of T6 attuned peeps avaible to be recruited was still to low so all the officers and senior guild members decided to call it quits. virtually the entire guild stopped playing, a couple joined other t6 farm guilds but the majority just lost interest in the game including me.

TBH I had been unhappy with the game since starting the T6 instances, I just didnt find them fun, It was all so rehearsed and with such a steep learning curve that you had to have perfect DDR moves, their was no room for even one person to make an error and their was no scope for spontaneity that had made previous raiding tiers all the way back to MC so fun (Such joy as pulling half of MC with everyone running for their lives while someone played Benny Hill theme on vent) You couldnt make a mistake and adapt which was what I found so fun (someone dies someone else quickly takes over, the boss moves out of position? you handle it, etc) You used to have to think about what was going on around you and what others were doing, but in T6 it was all about everyone getting their own part perfect.

I have many alts, many level 70's. TBH the Sunwell doesnt interest me, So I without reailising had decided to stop playing till WOTLK, Im looking forward to the solo PVE and the small instancing again (5 man died out on our server after only 3 months of BC, went from being a dozen groups to choose from to searching for 3 days to find even one group, mainly as everyone just breezed through it so quick and the raiding of Kara for even the most casual guild started almost immediatley) I want to try WOTLK raiding, give it a chance to shine like T1-T5 did, but frankly im not hopeful blizz will put the fun back into raiding.

SO anyway, See you when WOTLK comes around again, or at least some solid info to discuss :)

That's really harsh, it must be devastating to put so much effort into recruiting and attuning members, only to have them throw it back in your face.

I'm confident that Wrath will be a different experience, Blizz have learnt a lot from TBC, they changed the mould and a lot of people didn't like it. Wrath will be immense, and a lot of fun, so hang in there, it will be worth the wait

Can't you PvP in the meantime though? And surely you're curious about Sunwell?!

You should post the name of the guild those arses formed (along with server) just so people know the kind of people they are.

I dont like PVP really, I do it if im bored for like an hour a week tops, but cant do it enough to actually buy anything or I go insane. Sunwell im expecting to be mor of the same of BT, and while im sure they will have fun fight mechanics im sure they wont have changed the underlying issues for me. I will check out the 5 man though.

As to naming and shaming, im not a vindictive person

Your call of course, but I don't view it a vindictiveness but more a warning to others who might get involved with scum, er, players like that. But I'd post on the realm forums so it is seen by people on that forum...
