When can Paladins learn to use Swords?
Is using a Sword as good(if not better) then using a Mace?
Also, Can Paladins use the same armor as Warriors?
Thanks.

of course they can use swords :) Go and see weapon trainers.
Paladins can use a hugh variety of weapons. This includes swords, Maces, Axes and Polearms. But please, I don't think Pally running around with an axe is a great thing to see >.> (just me again). However, Paladins cannot use any ranged weapon unless blizzard let them throw their librams to the target in the future.
When it comes to picking a weapon, go for the one with best stats. Remember though, that if you use that type of weapon for the first time, you might need sometime to level your weapon skills up.
And finally, Paladins can use all type of armors, and that includes Plates.

i think cloth pallys with maces are pretty sexy...
but when i think of one, plate armor with 2h hammer...typical picturesque image in my mind...

Because 'paly' looks rubbish :p
It would form a different sound as well. Saying paly out loud sounds like paley - whereas saying pally continues the same starting sound that paladin has - pal.

Yes, it comes from the first syllable 'pal'. If you take that as the base word and add a diminuitive to that, you get pal-ly.
Sorry, student!me took over for a minute. ^^
