I am planning on making a Warrior. Whats the best combo for a Warrior that will be doing alot of quests and mobs. How bad are warriors at questing/soloing?

Also, How long will it take to get to level 40 for a (Somewhat)beginner to wow?

Thanks.

to lvl 40 should take 3-4 days played for most people...if its your first toon youre looking at maybe 5-6 days played.

i do believe fury or arms are the way to go for leveling...

warriors do a decent job of leveling as long as you're cautious...bandage is the only thing besides food to heal yourself, so make sure to learn first aid asap...

Did I mention I love cannabalism? In WOW of course, my neighbors are safe(mostly). It stacks up in time saved over the course of a character and looks pretty freaking cool.

Anyway, I'm speccing my Warrior to Protection to be able to tank, and I find that I don't have too many problems levelling solo either. I do have a 2H weapon for that, though, while I carry a 1H with shield around for when grouping/instancing.

Just wondering..how on earth do people level in 3-4 days? Or 5-6 even? Granted, I have many toons that all need a little care from time to time, but even when I play one of them for most part of the day I still only get about 3 levels. What's the catch?

With one of the recent patches, the boost to xp gain, increased leveling rate quite a bit. Allso browsing around in the areas that covers your level bracket, there are allmost allways green quests available, which are easily solved but still give a nice chunk of xp.

I mainly soloed levelled my warrior to 70. My advice is to pick your fights carefully, don't go wading in and expect to cut a swathe through massed ranks of mobs. Also echoing what Rottentomato said, learn Firstaid as soon as possible, it is your friend. I also found alchemy is a useful skill to get for a warrior (imho) those healing and buff potions can be a real difference maker.

3-4 days played is 72-96 hours of play time...

lvl 20 should take roughly 18-22 hours...with new xp gains after level 20, you should keep on this same track with a sliding scale increase respectively... 20-21 takes about an hour, 21-22 hour and 15 minutes, slowly increasing and distancing itself more and more, 39-40 takes about 2-3 hours

you make up that extra 50 or so hours during this time between 20-40, and 40-60 is another 96 hours or so...

took the hunter to level 60 in 7 days played with the old leveling speed, now i could probably shave a day or two off that speed.

I have been leveling up a warrior with Arms, and this seems to work out fine. You can solo as a protection warrior, but it is going to be slower. I'd probably hold off til 70 to go that route. It's not as bad as it used to be, though.

As said before, the trick is picking your fights. Know what you can and can't handle. Don't take on groups full of mobs that tend to cleave off armor, for example. Or groups containing a lot of casters that will stand back and blast you (you have fewer defenses against casters than against other melee, unless you've built up spell defenses). Know how many you can and can't handle at once. As an arms warrior with extra points in Fury to get the improved cleave, and with the Sweeping Strikes, I actually like taking on multiple opponents at once -- it's efficient -- but I have to pick my targets on this very, very carefully.

Stock up on food. I usually only use bandages if I have to heal up quickly, such as if there is another mob nearby, because food is a lot cheaper. Use the best bandages you can use -- what you can use and what you can make are sometimes different (for example, you can use silk bandages long before you have the skill to make them), and people often put up bandages on the AH for much cheaper than the raw materials. As an undead warrior I do use cannibalize, but it's got a cooldown and it doesn't heal me up completely. Healing potions should only be used as an emergency measure during fights; don't get too dependent on them as they get wicked expensive later in the game. Use stat food always.

Dont level in protection, its simply not needed to tank levelling instances. Level fury and get 2 onehanders or Arms with a two hander for questing.
