Are S1 rewards worth it at this point?

I just started hitting the BG's with my Pali. So far I have only gotten the S1 helm but It got me thinking. Is it really worth upgrading my current trash gear with S1 Glad gear or should I just tough it out and hold onto my honor for season 4?

Has anyone heard whether they will be offering S2 gear for BG Honor at that point? I'm working on 1-3K honor a night trying not to get burned out so it will take me a while.

Think of it this way. You can wait forever for the latest and greatest gear. Or, you can start buying pieces now.

I started playing arena and to get to the higher brackets resilience is a must. So, you HAVE to get some starter gear. S1 gear is that. I replace S1 gear once I have enough points for a new S3 piece.

As a side benefit, S1 gear can often times be good for raiding as well. I'm raiding Kara now with some of my pvp gear with no downside since I gemmed appropriately.

I enjoy BG's so I run a few every night and then take advantage of the bonus weekend.

It's quite easy to get so if I were you - I'd go for it.

I think they are worth it. If anything, they are a nice upgrade from the blues and greens I had, making me more viable in heroic instances. I've also found that I actually kinda like BG's (and Arenas), which is amazing, since I had disliked PvP for years, long before WoW ever even was developed.

I understand where you're coming from but going on that level of thinking about gear upgrades . . . why upgrade at all - with WoTLK coming soon? :wink: So, yes, I would take the S1.

My advice to you is to get 2 pieces of s1 gear, go back and get all the Vindicator's gear, then go start getting the rest of s1 gear. WHILE you are doing this, get your weekly arena games in and youll start filling in the holes faster than you think

From what I've gathered, in 2.4 S2 gear will be sold for honor and marks, S3 gear will be sold for arena points at a discount (and will no longer have a personal rating requirement), and S4 stuff will be sold at full price and feature ratings.

As for the fate of S1 gear, my sources can't agree whether it will still be sold for honor (and get a discount), or will be retired altogether.

I was thinking about this. After getting the initial resiliance bonus from the S1 gear, the Vindicator stuff will actually replace much older gear for me. Sadly I'm still wearing L60 bracers becaus they are the only plate ones I've found with +SD on them :-O

I have to agree with people that S1 is definitely worth it. It takes some time to get but I have noticed a HUGE difference since I was able to get this gear. I use mine for soloing, instances, and PvP. If you enjoy PvP and do it enough its not going to be hard to get it.
