Hey guys! I'm currently downloading WoW 10 day trial to try it out. My brother used to play it and I thought I might as well try it out and see if it's as great as it looks. However, I do have a question...

Can I do more than just level? I've seen in some videos you can do quests and stuff, but what else am I able to do?

Leveling is a large part of it. Doing quests earns you money, items and XP. The more experience you get the more you level. As you level you gain new abilities and talents.

Other than questing, there are battlegrounds for PVP, dungeon "instances" where you play with a group, there are the professions, like leatherworking, mining, skinning, etc.

On a trial account, not much. Quests *are* part of leveling. There also is Battlegrounds (but you have to be at least a certain level to get into different battlegrounds), Profession development, and then at the max level, there's Arena competitions, etc. But... on a trial accountyou most likely won't get there, unless you convert it into a full account.

Its true that leveling by gaining experience by completing quests and killing mobs is one of the main thing you can do in WoW. however you can also pvp. i personally love the pvp aspect of the game playing the different battlegrounds and gaining honor and marks in order to get specialized gear is fun. so yes there are other things to do. keeo in mind if you do plan on going to the battlegrounds you must be at least level ten but you cant really effectively play there unless you in the higher end of the bracket...
10-19
20-29
30-39
etc...
ie. you should be at least level 17 before you decide to jump into a battleground because otherwise you wont have too much fun and other players will get frustrated with you because you are a lower level than all the rest of them lol. personally id say give pvp a try. its fun and exciting and has the potential to give good gear to give you an edge in pve and world pvp.

Thanks! If I end up enjoying the game I'll buy it for sure. I think I'll really enjoy PVP and instances. I'll let you guys know if I end up buying the game or not. :)

Just remember - if/when you decide to upgrade your account, you *do not need to reinstall the game*. The trial client program is exactly the same as the regular one, it is only the account that is different. All you need is the CD/registration key from the box version, plug it in, and you can continue playing, without the tedious uninstall/reinstall process.

The trial account will not provide you the full experience of the game. Questing is a big chunk of the game until you reach level 70. There are things that you can do though. Such as talking with people throughout the game. Taking a role in a popular guild. Attacking the opposing faction players/towns. Participating in instances and raids that take place at level 70. If you are into these type of games I would really recommend you try it. Even though that leveling might seem painful and time consuming, it is worth in the long run.

It's important to note that there are a lot of things you cannot do when playing on a trial account. You can't use the auction house, use in-game mail, or talk in chat channels. I think there are other restrictions too, all of which are in place to try to stop goldsellers using the free trial offer to sell their wares.

So with the free trial pretty much all you get to see is the questing and combat side but it should be enough to let you know if you'll enjoy the full game or not.

With the latest patch lvling to 60 (with a full account) isn't the nightmare some would make it out to be...

If your someone that games a lot then you'll probably play enough that you'll make it to lvl 20 within 2-3 days and then level (ding) once a day after that...

If you have a job a family and or just dont game too much... then dinging once every couple of days is what to expect...

But their are tons of stuff to do while lvling... and if you've played anyother Warcraft game then exploring is tons of fun... (For someone who owns ever WC and WoW... I love it)...

Questing is technically lvling... but it def. gives you a purpose... and if you ever find your self trying to lvl without any quests then you def. need to ask around cuz there are always quests to help you in that regard...

Always lots of trading and professions to go into.. Engineering and Alchemy are tons of fun...

Get into a good guild early if you can... and (if it's a good guild) you can chat it up and get a lot of help and advice...

Dungeons/Instances are great... technically count as lvling... but they're a blast...

PvP... once you get the hang of it (Read some of the guides for whatever class you choose and ask for help from friends) is a lot of fun... Although I'd suggest waiting to get to lvl 29 to really jump into it... 10-19 is just plain frustrating with all the twinks (players geared to the maximum) running around...

I'm buying the game for sure. I think WoW Battle Chest has all/most of the expansions? I can't wait to try other things. My friend sent me mail and I had to remind him I don't have the real game yet.

I'm really thankful that so many people replied to this topic, the game is great and I really understand why so many people play it.

I think I use the Mulgore server is anyone wants to know. Thanks for everything!

There is only one expansion so far. So no doubts there :)
