Sorry if this is the wrong section, but after playing up to a lvl 47 Gnome Mage a couple years ago, I quit. At this time, I feel pretty bored and feel like playing this game again. I haven't tried out BC yet. My cousin plays and has a lvl 70 on Kil'Jaedan, but I'm an EST person, so it wouldn't work out as much. I'm planning to be a warrior or hunter.

Should I come back, and if so, should I roll on my cousin's server or an EST server?

It depends. You said yourself that you're more an EST person. Also, if you roll on a server just to play with your cousin who has a lvl 70, you'll be a long way off from fighting together. Unless he's willing to boost you by helping you quest, but that takes too much of the fun away. Maybe he could roll a new toon as well, so you can both start from scratch.

Yeah, I was planning to just play from scratch and just communicate with my cousin through AIM or something. I'm also planning to be Alliance again. I'm just worried about the price of buying game cards and buying the expansion.

IMO - Roll a warrior though, every yahoo has a hunter now.

Anything I should know for a new warrior?

If you play EST times, go with an EST server. What server are you planning on rolling on? I only have horde characters so I couldn't help you on my server.

If you've never played a Hunter, go for it. I love Hunters.

not sure what server, but I'd love to be on a balanced server. I'm planning to be a Gnome Warrior, even though they are unbalanced.

Gnome warriors are the best if you plan on PvP.

Get your cousing to roll a new toon so you two can level up together. It'll be more fun for you, and he'll get to have another 70.

How about PvE? Although I do plan on doing PvP alot, just wondering how great they are against mobs.

Personally, I hate PVE. I just don't like how you can't attack other players that are not flagged. Unless, you absolutely hate when the opposite faction attacks you when you are questing/leveling. My main character is a hunter. He is perfect if you plan on soloing quests and pvping. My hunter is very good in pvp and I can take down mostly any class except a warrior. But! I think a hunter is not a good choice for raiding if you are planning on doing that. All you do is stand there and DPS most of the time. If you want a more in-depth class for raiding I would either choose a tank(warrior, paladin, or druid) or a healer(paladin, priest, druid, shaman). Warriors are great for PVP and even for raiding. The choice is personally up to you. I would definitely roll a character your a server that is EST. Trust me, you are your cousin won't be playing together for a long time. Also, I find not even playing together with my friends that are on my server. The only thing we do is communicate by typing.

I was just wondering about how Gnome Warriors would do soloing/questing and in instances and stuff. I know they're real great for PvP.

I wouldn't recommend buying through game cards... if you plan on staying for awhile I'd recommend in investing in a 6 month roll... drops the monthly price down a good bit and you can roll at least 2 toons to 70 and enjoy the game for awhile... Plus with WotLK in the future you'll probably get pulled back in again so having the game at the cheapest price helps :)

And if your cousin rolls a new toon it's nice to have someone you know IRL to play with... means you can really trust at least one person on the server...

I go to school on the East coast and live on the East coast and play on an East coast server and never have any trouble... so I would say it's more important to have someone you know IRL on your server...

As far as what toon to roll... whatever tickles your fancy... (no pun intended :)... I love my rogue... Pally's, Hunters, and Druids are all fun too...

Personally, I hate PVE. .

I am the exact opposite... I hate... hate PvP servers... quest when I want.. PvP when I want... no annoying ganksters running around trying to show all the lowbies how cool they are with their crappy gear even at lvl 70...

But if it's your cup of tea to be ganked when trying to run through Booty Bay... then go right ahead...

I agree. I abandonded my PvP toon at lvl 36. STV was just too much for me. I couldn't finish quests, couldn't grind. It was way to frustrating. I've never regretted changing to a PvE server.

HandofDread, the rules of the forums don't allow back to back posting. You can edit your posts for up to an hour, or you can respond to more than one person in the same post. Just thought I'd let you know before you get a nasty-gram from a mod.

I think the best solo questing warrior race is Draenei, for the racial heals and the +1% to hit. The best damage dealing warriors would probably be orc with troll as a close second.

See, on the PvP vs. PvE debate, I'm the opposite. I started off on a PvE server (EU Nordrassil). I got so bored of it, but I was playing on the server with a friend and we couldn't transfer PvE to PvP, so I stuck it out. When the friend stopped playing, I spent a while wandering different servers and server types on both my European and American accounts, before I bit the bullet and rerolled RPPvP for good -- I've never looked back, I love my new server. The faction war actually means something, but you also get presently surprised when that well-geared enemy charges over and... helps you kill a mob.

Different strokes for different folks.

One word of warning, though: If you level on a PvP or RPPvP server and you don't like it, you can transfer to PvE or RP for a minimal fee. If you level on a PvE or RP server and you don't like it, you would have to reroll entirely to get onto a PvP server.

I'm deciding to join a PvP realm, considering that I heard PvE can be quite boring. I was a PvP mage a while back, so I still have the PvP knowledge. 'Course I'm going to have to get used to close combat now that I'll roll a warrior.
