Hi guys

I've had that fatigue timer show up when swimming before, but not sure how, I was able to get it to go away.

I don't know if I stopped swimming for a bit, or dived down to stand on some solid ground in the water (at that time I had a breathing elixer)

But yesterday, long story short, being chased by an elite I had no choice but to swim from one island to another (feathermoon strong) and half way there the fatigue bar came up, but this time I died.

Are there any tips when this happens to avoid dying?

Of course in this case it actually helped me out as I was able to rez at the spirit healer at the GY in feathermoon, but still...

Thanks

Easiest thing to do is look at the water on your minimap. The really dark areas are deep parts of the sea, and when you're in those, you get fatigued. Swim in the lighter-colored areas of water. if you're being chased, just keep on going, it'll soon stop coming after you (sometimes it feels like they won't, but they will, lol).

Feathermoon Strong, is that the island off the coast of Feralas? Yeah, you'll have to cross a deepsea bit if you want to swim across. If you look closely at the map like Xandro says, you should be able to determine where the smallest strip of deepsea divides the island from the mainland.

Of course, concerning that specific island.. you can also take the boat to the mainland.

Yeah, turn around to lighter colored water. Open ocean will kill you.

What happens if you use the walk on water potion/spell (sorry can't remember which it is) and walk over the darker parts? Do you fatigue?

Oh sorry, I have to add.. I have fatigued while running on land, DEAD. This was incredibly frustrating. I assume it was to prevent travelling too far while dead (through different regions). You are dead, you fatigue until.. a second death which takes you back to your original graveyard (not the one near where you are now, but where you first died).

Yep, deep sea is used to "wall off" certain areas in much the same way as mountains are on land. It doesn't matter what means you use to cross it (aside from boats, zeppelins and flightpaths), fatigue will get you.

I used to think (before i got the game) you could swim form Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor as I once saw some ingame footage of a Tauren swimming from Echo Isle to Sen'Jin Village. Needless to say I was a bit miffed I couldn't... i was willing to swim for an hour or more jsut to say that i had done it...

The first time I saw that fatigue bar pop up was when I was swimming from Theramore to Ratchet.. I had no idea what caused it, and believed that I had been swimming for too long. I half-panicked and aimed for the main land as fast as I could, and was quite surprised to see the bar disappearing when I hit the lighter water. Boy, did I feel silly.
