Well basically I am rolling to a new server to play horde with a couple of my rl friends (most of em are 70 so I can get some help and maybe a little cash =P) anyway I am really getting tired of my 70 alliance rogue and since given the opportunity from this I want to try a new class mainly for 70 pvp. Seeing some classes in PvP I kind of wanted to choose between these classes; Druid (frigging annoying for me to kill), mage (also very annoying for me to kill or hit for that matter), pally (i've seen some top dps charts), shaman (i've seen how they level with windfury and elemental looks pretty nice for 70), and lastly a shadow priest. Yeah I know its a lot of classes and that each one is unique in what they do, but from your experiences could you tell me what each of these classes' roles are really for pvp? (Just a side note I don't really find myself as a healer but more of a damage kind of person)

thanks in advance!

You can forget about Druids and Paladins if you don't want to heal.

Shamans are more likely to be healers in 2v2/3v3 than Elemental, but it happens either way.

I'm completely a PVP newbie, but if you're not wanting to heal, I'd go with a lock, mage, hunter, maybe in that order too. However, if you want to do damage, and be able to heal yourself, why not shadowpriest?

I'll second that. I run a hunter but am also enjoying SP at the moment. Pretty interesting toon to build.

Because there are no Ret Paladins with 2k ratings? Oh wait there are.

Seen Boomkins with 2k ratings also.

Warning, this does not say that they are easy or ideal, just viable in the right hands and in the right group (Ret kicks in Arms Warrior/Ret Paladin/Resto Shaman 3v3 group).

Most of the classes (ignoring tanking trees) can be fully viable in Arena, PROVIDED they are in a good group with complimentary skills. You cannot just mix and match people and classes and do really well however.

hmm lets see now i narrowed it down to pally (shockadin or ret), mage, hunter, or shammy and im alright with healing sometimes just not fully but isn't that what repecs are for, basically i like dpsing but hey ill support my teammates if they need it =P

There are Ferals @ 2k rating. There are Enhancement shamans that make Gladiator.

But frankly, I dare doubt that anyone who needs to ask what to play will reach that rating with a sub-par spec anytime soon.

I have 2 70 rogues and a 70 shadow priest.

I found it easier to level shadow priest because many ppl would like to play with you (pre 70 - heal). After you reach 70, however, you probably have to grind for weeks to craft the frozon shadoweave set. Then, you will be invited a lot to raids (due to the unique mana re-generating) and you will be geared up very fast.

As far as PVP, shadow priests are doing very well in 5v5 and battlegrounds.

I am thinking about the next toon also, it might be fire mage, pally, druid on the horde side or frost mage, shaman, warrior on the alliance side.

Who knows!.
