I recently bought a new PC:
MB: ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz
VGA: MSI Radeon RX1950XT-VT2D256E-HD 256MB 256bit DDR3
RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
I get very good framerates at max video settings 1280x960 - 85fps is the average.
The funny thing is that sometimes, even tho it happens rarely (like once or twise a day), my screen freezes for several seconds and then everything returns to normal.
I'm not sure but i think this has happened when i see a member of opposing fraction. I don't really try to remember those kinds of things :P
The bad thing is that i can't really simuate the event, so it would be hard to test if something works or not.
Any ideas?

It could be a none-WoW background program. Most likely cause is having to read from the harddrive, so information on that would be useful. If this is Vista as your OS, could be another one of its quirks.

Well i'm running on Windows XP.
On the other issue - i'm running utorrent all the time, seeding 20+ items (i'm rarely downloading meanwhile). So that might be the problem. But i have to say i really doubt it :ponder:

I find some add-ons to cause issues like this. I would call them pauses moreso than freezes.
Do you still have the problem running a base install?

Bingo. You've got your cause. Utorrent has been known to cause recursive slow downs, mean the longer to PC goes without a reboot, the worse it gets while continuing to run Utorrent. If you must use torrent programs, and I am assuming these are legal torrents, keep them on a seperate machine, especially Utorrent due to the aforementioned issue. The HDD is the most limiting component on gameplay, the main cause of slow downs. A great dirty file sharing network is going to be tugging on read/write space on a HDD that's already being taxed by a game or a big intensive program; resulting in this phenominon.
If you disbelieve, give it a try. Restart your PC completely, and play WoW all day, don't switch it back on. I'm willing to bet the slow down won't occur at all.

I really can't say because i never tried that. As i mentioned - i can't force the thing to happen.
Bingo.
Thanks for the tip, i've had my doubts about that.
