Rogue weapons help

Hey guys. Im level 67 sword spec. rogue and i have some questions on swords/daggers.

At the moment im using 2 very average swords (i dont care because i will be 70 soon)
1. [Assassins' Short Blade of the Bandit]
105 - 196 Damage Speed 2.60
(57.9 damage per second)
11 Agi
16 Stam
22 Attack Power

2. [Honor Hold Saber of the Bandit]
101 - 189 Damage Speed 2.60
(55.8 damage per second)
10 Agi
15 Stam
21 Attack Power

However, I just won [The Stalker's Fangs] in Underbog.

I feel like leveling my Dagger skills & using it. What combination of sword/dagger shall i use? What hand should I put the dagger in? Ive not used daggers much, so i dont really know how they work, but it would be great if you guys could help me out.

for specifically leveling your dagger skill, the dagger should be in your main hand, as that has the greatest % chance to hit, and only a hit generates a roll to level up the skill. daggers have less dmg than swords and maces, but they have faster speeds (remember the lower the number the faster the speed), so the DPS evens out for weapons of the same level. think of it in practical terms - a dagger is a smaller version of a sword, so you can move it faster and strike more often because it weighs less, but at the same time it will deliver less damage per blow because of that lack of mass. for leveling the skill, you might want to consider dual wielding daggers also, simply because you'd be almost doubling your chance of a successful hit. rolls for lvl increase proc on offhand hits as well. doesn't matter what kind of dagger you use either. as long as it gives you xp, it'll activate a roll for a skill point increase, so go for the greens :grin: hope this helps....lifetime Rogue FTW btw

If you're starting your daggers skill from 1 (or very low anyway) and you will be dual wielding daggers trying to get the skill up I recommend not killing mobs of your own level :tongue:. Start at L30s or something.

When I was in Loch Modan my brother-in-law (then a L60 Warrior) joined me for questing to level up a weapon skill. Those mobs are L12 - L20 and I was hitting them more often than he was :grin:.

That dagger is designed for the main hand due to its speed. It is used for heavy backstab or mutilate hits. If you are not really interested in stabbing people's spine as your main attack mode, I would suggest that you drop that dagger, or save it until you decide to start crushing spines.

The offhand sword of yours could use a faster speed. I'm not going to be comfortable with two 2.6 speed swords due to lack of poison application.

If you want to train on daggers, I suggest that you should frequent outsides of instances of around level 30. Typically, the mobs outside don't drop fast, and they respawn fairly quickly, so you can stab them to your heart's content.
